These people called me today saying I was listed as "a reference on an application" for someone I don't know. This is the second time I've told them I don't know this person. The last time I spoke to a man who was very rude. How would they get my name and number from someone I don't know? I'm starting to wonder if it is identity fraud and someone is trying to get my information or using my information. How can I find out more about this company?
614-717-4395 calls all the time but never leaves a message so I just added them to my call rejection list:-)
They are a collection agency for school loans. Given that they started Garnishing my wages due to some *ahem* neglect on my part a loan went into default, and they honestly are working with me to get it out of default. Needless to say I contacted them. Was bored at work and looking up different numbers in my phone to see whats going on. If the Person is being a dick ask for the manager and get the name of the company that originated the loan. Check with that company to see if you have a defaulted school loan. If you do fix before you hose your credit rating if you don't, call a lawyer. If there is one there that you didn't apply for someone may have your Identity, which is rather serious.
Hey you guys, dont take this. You must do these things to deal with this. Step one Read the Fair Debt collection act carefully!!!! read it again CAREFULLY!!!!Step two: when they call you you MUST state that you DISPUTE THE VALIDITY of this bill. and give no other information. no other information means dont talk. Smart lawyers will tell you " U have the right to remain silent, use it"! once you dispute the validity of the debt and use them words!! the fair debt collection act that you have read CAREFULLY outlines exactly what OSI or any collection company must do before they can collect a debt. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION!! They will ask you for your name and mailing address to send validation. YOU MUST RESPOND WITH SEND ALL INFORMATION FOR THIS ALLEGED DEBT TO THE ADDRESS ON YOUR RECORDS! do it just like this!! Debt validation is a process that creditors must provide to any consumer that they say owes money. this will force them to communicate in writing. Should they actually respond in writing post the response and I will provide more info on what to do next. Lots of people on her talk bout OSI violating the law and nail em blah blah blah.if you do not follow the fair debt collect act that you have READ CAREFULLY you do not have a cause of action. when you dont do it properly the law restarts the Satute of limitations. Also by not following the Fair Debt collection act CAREFULLY, you are actually helping the creditor get away with abusing you and weaking your ability to lodge effective complaints. Dont be afaraid the Fair debt collection act is only three pages so its not hard to READ CAREFULLY!!!
see my post above. dont ask for information as to what the call is about and dont OFFER ANYTHING!!! dont tell them hes not married dont tell them he doesnt live here dont tell them u cannot forward the message to him unless he tells you what the call is about. What would you do if he told you the call was about winning a new car or lottery or something? they will use thes tatcitcs to get infomration from you. READ THE FAIR DEBT COLLECTION ACT CAREFULLY!! remember you ahve the right to remain slient USE IT. better response when he calles again he will ask to speak with john just reply with sorry no John here and hang up the phone its ok to be rude back JUST DONT TALK TO THEM repeat this again sorry no john here and hang up the phone
i have received two call this afternoon from 614-717-4395 and i saw the reports that its a scam after the first call and now ive received another
i got a phone call from this by the name of "Dallas Taylor". He said that I owed money to the government from when I was in the Marine Corps. He called me at 8:18pm eastern time on my cell. I know i've gotten atleast 3 different cell numbers since i got out of the Corps little over 3 years ago.Mr. Taylor claims to be working for NCO Financial Systems, but after i got off the phone with him, i called NCO and asked them if they have a 614-717-4395 associated with their company, i was told that they "didn't have a clue."
I have had over 20 missed/ignored calls from this number in the past 2 weeks so I figured I'd google it and I found these postings. Thank you for saving me the frustration of calling them back to investigate. Count me in for a class action suit. I will also be reporting this to the authorities.
