We have been continuously called by this company, I think their number may change. Not sure but I am sure this number called and wanted to lower our credit card interest rate. I have told them repeatedly we are not interested. They just continue. I know this number is in Mass. somewhere based on the area code. If you have any way of stopping this caller, we would be grateful.
I have been getting these calls for almost 2 yrs now. 617-390-4592 has called me every fricking day for 3 weeks now. I answered yesterday pressed 1 and said take me off your list and I got a blast of ear splitting noise. and they have already called me twice today. more numbers 510-699-9231, 321-422-0857, 802-230-6537, 888-272-5543, 513-417-0498, 760-680-6895,
I'm glad I'm not the only one who's been getting these phone calls!!I've been getting calls twice a day from 1-617-390-4562 for about 2 months now, I finally started answering them last week, and pressing 1. Everyone hangs up the moment I mention how often I receive these calls. No changes.. The air horn and whistles will not do any good, either. Because your phone system has volume limiters built in to enure no one losses an eardrum due to a phone call.. (Although I'll bet it's still satisfactorily annoying).I also seriously doubt that these people attained our numbers by someone loosing a laptop or data. Most telemarketing companies use a random number generator, that tests for a ring, and then puts you on a list, and forwards it to a sales office later. Also, calling back the number goes to either a busy signal, or goes directly to voice-mail and a message that the mailbox is full. This indicates that the phone number they are using on the caller ID is a cellphone number, and most likely also fake, and unrelated to the business.. The cell number probably doesn't even belong to the marketing company! He's most likely a victim of their deceit, like we are!
I have gotten these same phone calls on my cell from about 15 different phone numbers over the past several months. I have filed numerous complaints with the FTC. I have also filed complaints with the FBI and my state attorney general. It seems that the only thing to do i change your number, and I really don't want to have to do that. If you press 1, they hang up on you when you ask about them or tell them to stop calling. Last week, I was so sick of it, I told them I wasn't going to suddenly change my mind and decide I wanted to be ripped off. The douche on the phone then asked if I was a nazi and cussed me out. Loser!I have AT&T and added smart limits to my phone for $5/month. Every time they call from a new number, I go to the website and block it. That's helped some but is still annoying. I didn't get a call for about 5 days, but then I had 2 new numbers for 2 days in a row. Usually, it's about a week in between phone numbers. What really infuriated me is that their stupid recording left a voice mail on my phone today. I hope this isn't a new thing. No law enforcement agency seems to want to do anything about it, but I'm not going to stop bothering them. I am filing a report each and every time I get called from now on. I am sick of being harassed and won't stand for it.I'm also buying an air horn, so that when I do want to pick up and press 1, they'll get a little blast to the ear before I block yet ANOTHER fraudulent phone number.
Jeff, I wish being rude would help. Unfortunately, these pieces of S__T get this all day and are resistant to rudeness. Maybe if everyone would call the FTC and FBI every time they get a call the FTC would get tired of the calls and request funds to fight these crooks. What I do is press 1 and tell them that I have 20K in debt and then make up stories about how happy I am that they have called. I then ask them to hold on while I answer the other line. After a minute or so, I get back on the phone and ask if they are still there and to please hold on as I really need their help. I do this several times and when they ask for credit card info, I ask them to hold while I find the card info in the file. After a few minutes, I come back and tell them that my wife must have paid off the balances because I can't find where we owe any money. They hang up but at least I wasted there time like they waste mine. What BS !
Pressed 1, told them I was interested (I wasn't) and asked for a number so I could call back. I was hung up on.
