The only way people can make a difference is if they band together. This is what I started doing, When the Card Services people call and you answer, hit 1 to tell them you do not want to be on their list. If you just say, "take me off their list", you'll get hung up on before you can even finish. So, the key here is to say "Yes", then go into your tirade. Mine goes like this:Caller: "Would you like to lower your interest rates ...?Me: "Yes, last night I F*cked your mother in the *ss and noticed you weren't there to watch."Usually they are caught off guard and then hang up. Sometimes they get really upset and say F*ck U.Then you keep hitting them back with other stuff like how their mother really seemed to enjoy the *ss pounding you gave her. The key here is the use fire to fight fire. You turn the tables and get them upset like a bill collector would do to you. My one lit match probably doesn't put a huge dent in their operation but imagine if everyone did it to them. Again, talking about past tense things that you did with their moms and not things you wish to do to them because you don't want to fall into the harrasment trap or the threat trap.Good hunting people!
Just more lowlife losers with nothing constructive to do. Seems to be a recording about closing a credit file, so whatever. Consider the source and ignore it.
They have been calling me for months from 617-390-4562 (MA) and 785-207-6317 (KS). I have been registered with the Do Not Call registry for over two years and reported this number about 3 times and what are they doing......Not much I think. I have returned a call to these number and have not been able to leave a message to stop. When I did get a real live person on the other end, I was hung up on. But this may be counterproductive because it only registers your phone again with them and they are gathering information on personal phones. Very frustrating.
They won't and they aren't going to. I've called my congressman and they don't take it seriously.
Just received the dreaded call from 617-390-4562 about 2 minutes ago on my landline (home) phone. Am finally convinced the Do Not Call List and even paying for an unpublished number are both useless in preventing these types of calls. I recently purchased a Digitone Call Blocker (for use with landline phones) which I highly recommend (you can find it online & shipping is fast). The set-up is very easy & allows you to block up to 80 calls. The unit isn't cheap ($99) but shipping is free & it is SO GREAT to be able to block calls from these idiots. Unfortunately, my husband and I are now starting to receive these types of calls on our cell phones. If you are an ATT wireless customer, the Smart Limits (which someone mentioned here earlier) is probably the only way to stop them from coming through but ATT charges $5/month for this feature. Instead, I have set up a Contact in my cell phone labeled "SPAM CALLS" and assigned a Silent Ring to it. Everytime I get a call from these types of callers, I add the # to this contact. So yes, they can still call my cell but the call is silent & shows up as SPAM CALL on my phone. May not eliminate the calls but at least they are identified as Spam & my phone doesn't ring, so they don't annoy me as much. Hope this info helps!!
After repeated calls I have now saved the number as a contact named SCAM. I then changed the contact setting to go directly to voicemail.
They do have many numbers and similiar company names. Card Services, Card Holdings, etc..
Calls come at between 10:30-11:30 am and 3:00-5:00pm every day, including weekends. When I answer, no response, just a hangup. I have tried calling back but get the notification that mailbox is full.
