Got a call from 623 492 4000 to my mobil. They said they were from American Express. The man new my name and my wife's name--but I asked him how would I know he was legitimate. He did not insist and directed me to call the number on the back of my card. I did but I found out there was no problem with my account and American Express said the number was not theirs. Now, I realize that American Express requires you to enter your card number on the phone before they speak to you. I just hope they are not using some mechanism to intercept your call and read that--as they know you'll be calling . . .
This is AMEX fraud department for MERCHANT accounts. I have called AMEX several times and if I ever get a call back it's always from this number.
I've noticed it has been almost three years since this number was reported. Apparently, no arrest has been made as of yet. I received a call from this number at 6:25am (California time). The caller left a message of 'silence.'
If that is true, why not leave a proper message? If there is a fraud issue with one's account (which is of extreme importance), I believe a message stating such issue would be in accordance with the call. Instead, at 6:25a.m (PT), the caller leaves a message but it is silent. As I read these strings of posts, I am concerned.
It's actually UNREAL how stupid you people are. This is a genuine number from American Express, and I have been a cardmember of theirs (personal and business) for 4 years now. Anyone who says this is a scam phone # is either a spammer/troll trying to mislead people for some reason, or just a paranoid idiot who thinks every "strange number"!!! is the boogie monster. Do your research. This is a genuine number.
Try and use your damn brain for even 10 seconds - they don't leave a message for SECURITY reasons. It's the exact same reason they don't speak to you about your account until you've verified your identity. If they called your number and left sensitive information without verifying anything, they could be held liable. Just THINK, people.
Called about fraud on my AMEX. It would help if I acutally had an AMEX lol. Do NOT give these guys any information. Definitely a scam.

I live in Michigan, got a call and text from this number saying to shelter in place. Said there is an active incident and don’t answer doors unless it’s law enforcement officer. Said we’d receive another message when issue resolved.

From the QUITLINE - can be any state - PA for me - I followed their program to quit smoking and this was a follow up survey - NOT SPAM - The service was helpful and the survey harmless.
Got 2 calls from this number stating that it is a colect call from an inmate. We don' t know anyone who is an inmate anywhere.

This number keeps calling me. The message they leave is like a clicking sound. No one speaks. Very odd. I’m blocking this number

My calls were being forwarded to this number and I have no idea how it happened.
They hung up. In the last ten days I've had unauthorized credit card charges and an identity theft related to a Medicare fraud case. I suspect this is related.

Medicredit I believe possibly is scam/fraud calls involving medical insurance, medicare. Courts WILL decide !!
