We got a call from a (very brave and persistent) male who claimed we had over $9000 in credits to our merchant account and they want it back. Now, if this were true, the merchant processor/services people would get involved, but instead they threatened to take it to a collection agent. (Busted right there in my opinion). We told them we needed our accountant to verify all this and the year end stats/books wouldn't be done for 3 months. Not good enough for this thick-headed fellow; the criminal actually starts arguing and making more threats! We hung up after going in too many circular arguments. Then, he rang our phone like 15 times from this number. Also they tried Unknown Caller persistent callings. Sheesh! Brave Motherf%$#rs, eh? We were able to Block this number from our system. Why can't the cops trace this? AMEX (for Real, where are you?)

Got a call on my biz line saying he was from AMX calling about my biz cc account. Couldn't confirm anything. I asked why a call and not mail "new info". Real simple, idc if it's real AMX or scam..... bad way to call from non-ID tagged number. I hung up on him. [***] if you ask me.

This was a valid call from AMEX. I too saw the call coming from 623-492-4000 with 602-537-9012 listed below that so I didn't answer, but I was left a voicemail from AMEX Tier One support which my rep said in an email this morning she was going to have call me regarding an account issue. The caller named our rep in the message and mentioned our email conversation, and I recognized the gal's name from previous customer support experiences (if you're a Tier One member you always end up talking to the same 2-3 reps). Of course, never give out account information from someone calling you just to be safe, but the call I received from this number was legit.

I'm not sure who it was, but they did mention Amex

All, I just got a call (that I didn't pick up) and a VM from (623) 492-4000. The number is a legit Amex Assurance number. If you use Amex benefits (like Return Protection) you could get a call from this number.

Received a call from this number.they had a list of names that i charged on my amex. they claimed they were from Amex. wanted to know which companies (vendors) i wanted to use my card for . they said they will call those companies and convince them to take my Amex.I hung up and called Amex. Amex said that they never called me and that this was a hoax

Received call from 623-492-4000. Went of voicemail. Woman said she was from American Express and to call back on a different extension on the 623-492-4xxx list about my Platinum Card. Called Amex and they said that that is not one of their numbers and that it is a scam.

Someone from American Express calling to discuss a partnership with the company, but had no idea who the current CEO was. Google is accessible to all, do some research before a call a company.

This is a scam call. He left a message that his name is Cristopher and he is calling from American Express. Block the Caller.
