Actually, I got a call from them too and while I did put my resume on several sites, I never went to them looking for work. They reached out to me through email, and I told them I wasn't interested in the job they had to offer, and they still ended up calling me after the fact anyway. Kind of annoying that they can't just respond to the email if it's about that job or a new one.
It's a recruiter from Rose International calling regarding a contract position. He is based in MO, but has a very heavy Indian accent.
I received an email from this company over the weekend, I responded to them letting them know that I wasn't interested in that job. Today, the same lady called me about another job position in addition to emailing it to me. I emailed her again to let her know I wasn't interested in that one either (I'm not looking for anything contract/contract-to-hire, which is mostly what staffing agencies fill). I'm at work so I can't take personal calls, especially if they're for another job, but I can answer personal email from my phone so I did. 10 minutes later she calls again, responding to the email I had just sent. Declined and blocked the number because I refuse to work with someone who calls me multiple times in response to emails. If I'm emailing you back, it should be obvious that's how I prefer to communicate. I can handle one call but continual, unanswered calls are what turn me away from companies.
Also, she left yet another voicemail for me to listen to at work, explaining the difference between contract and contract-to-hire. Um hello? I've been looking for a job since October, I know what the difference is and I have personal reasons for not taking those positions. I've had recruiters try to change my mind on it before and I'm staying firm with my decision. I'm a full-time employee so a contract job would have to be a REALLY good offer for me to leave that. Most of the ones I've chased have turned into nothing so I've decided it's not even worth my time to bother with them, full-time positions have at least gotten me interviews even if I haven't been offered a position.
Do no trust anyone calls from out of state for work it's a scam!!! any legit agency would not be calling and should not ask for your personal information without flying to to meet it's a SCAM!!!
Dr. DanNO Legit Agency ask for you private information over the phone why don't you give them yours then
REALLY???? No Legit Agency works ask for ssn come on the only thing they miss out is Indentity Theft
BEWARE: This is a scam to get your personal identification. If you give the info they will steal your identity.
My buddy Got hired out of chicago for At&T they never asked him for this stuff I gave him my resume. and am waiting the recruiter. No one asks for SSNs that does not have an ulterior motive. I have only been asked once before about an from a company other than rose SSN the pattern is the same. They call and call trying to convince you to give them your SSN the SSN is the Prize. Call your local social security admin office and cll AT&T or BOA. And of course we all know you will be required to provide personal info; but not that early in the process. Err on the side of caution. I have worked for the computer merchant ,Robert Half , and Been recruited by Tek Systems etc. They never followed this protocol b4. I would NEVER NEVER NOT NOOOOOOT EVER !!! be persuaded to give up this information it is not the proper form. They use your condition and prey on your hopes and aspirations. Be Wise!!!
