we also are telus pay as you go customers, and got the same message from teeny4 we called telus and they credited us for the text and said that apperently it is not only that company but others also, and it should be an only one time deal, and they are looking into it. They said that it has been going on for about a month.

Got the same message this morning (27th) It scared me and I also looked it up in Google and found this site. I am calling Telus as well and hope that this is stopped. Where did they get our numbers?

no one has my number and i'm on a telus plan - my advice is DO not reply or send a message via email because they will have your IP # which identifies your computer and then they can send whatever they want. Your IP is matched to your address, name, credit card # licence and whatever else you gave telus to get your service...if you email your IP is matched on the server of your internet provider...DO NOT respond or reply to this money hungry sadistic perv (strictly uneducated opinion)

I received the same message today (11/08/08) saying that they got my number from a friend of mine and that I couldn't guess who they were. 2 text messages back to back. Their username was stardust20k and the website took me to matchpit.com. I wasn't stupid enough to sign up, I looked up the name and found this website. No call back number just 5000. Annoying. I'm with T-Mobile.

It isn't anything to worry about. Its just text spam. Most cell companies have online forms where you can send text messages to anyone on their network. It'd be trivial to write a computer program to send message to every person. Start at (100)-111-0001 and go up to (999)-999-9999. Expect to see some changes to the online text messaging system.

I contacted Telus and here what they told me - which makes perfect sense:"TELUS wouldn't send that kind of e-mail. It's SPAM. We use softwares to block these but it obviously didn't work in this case."Contacting Datepit and the likes would be a much better idea
