I got a text saying... "Hey, I got your number from a friend of mine, but I bet you can't guess who I am! My username's cee_oh69oh_elle, if you wanna come see if you recognize me online at cee_oh69oh_elle.date-of-hop.net Well, hope to see you soon!" I received it at 2:56 pm on 7/23/08I'm calling Sprint.

I got the "hey i got your number from a friend of mine, but i bet you can't guess who i am! My name's sphychocutie_p080 if you wanna come see if you recognize me online, at psychocutie_p808.datepit.net well hope to see you soon!" text message too. I'm using Telus at the moment, but I should probably reconsider.This seems like a dirty scam from Telus to cash in on their new $0.15-per-incoming-text-message policy. They're going to become rich off this dirty trick, sending this message to all their customers and it's such a huge underhanded operation with no traceable evidence that they're going to get away with it. I'd say the best thing to do is to just switch to another company. Hopefully someone behind this will read this and come out to their customers about it.I want someone to investigate this. It would make a good news story and could help put Telus to justice. Nobody but Telus could do something as massive as this. It seems all their customers have received this message.

FYI - they seem to have dug up some Fido numbers too because I got the same sort of crap today. The text message seems to have been sent via the web this time. Seriously annoying.

I just got off the phone with telus they said they are aware of the issue and are still trying to figure out who and where this is coming from. They said that none of us have anything to worry about it is just phone spam. I hope this helps.

yep, i got one right now. telling me to go to musicislife111.dateopolis.net.Its from "unknown sender" so you cant even reply if you want.
