No I have confirmed through NFCU that this is a scam.

Got the call today. It is a scam. Called NAVY Federal to confirm it is not them. My number is already listed on the DONOTCALL list.FCC time and file a complain to Virginia Attorney General.

Nothing wrong with this phone number. I applied for an auto loan pre-approval a few days ago. Yesterday I received a text from NFCU stating it was approved and my documents were ready for pick-up at my local branch. Just a few minutes ago, I received the phone call from the phone number in question. Let it go to voice mail. The voice mail said basically the same as the text. Said I had been approved for an auto loan and the documents were available for pick-up at the branch I had selected during the application process. LEGIT!!!

This is a number, when a Navy personel overseas buys phone time to call the US...

It is a valid and legal number from Navy Federal Credit Union. Either you inquired about something, they have some information for you concerning your account, or you didn't pay your bills on time and they are trying to reach you!!! It is not a scam...most of the people who say it is a scam are the ones that didn't pay their bills and are hiding from the collectors :)

I keep getting calls from this number and I do not have a mortgage with Navy Federal.

Answered this call today. IT IS Navy Federal. It was a courtesy call letting me know that Bill Pay on the new site is officially back up and running.

All too fishy to me. This # called my work to verify employment. The guy was nervous when he talked and didnt say what the verification was refering to. I have not opened any new loans or credit cards lately. I am not late on any bills. I called the main 800 nfcu number and they confirmed that there was no note to call me regarding anything. BE SMART & CAUTIOUS people.

A call from the 703-272-2013 number IS fron NFCU - their system shows a "different" number that you can't call directly back on it. You are to use the general routing numbers for NFCU to contact them. Additionally - I was expecting a call from them and that was the call I missed. I know this because I just got off the phone with them TODAY and asked about the area code specifically.A call from this number relates to a mortgage, auto loan or bankruptcy, etc. If you receive a call, I believe you should answer it. I am glad followed up and called the 800 & 888 numbers or I would have missed a very important call. But the choice is yours.

I just got a call today in regards to possible ATM fraud from this number claiming to be Navy Federal Credit Union. They didn't ask for any identifying information, but knew my address. I called the number back and said it was a non working number. I verified with Navy Federal that it was indeed a legit call. As several people said before, don't volunteer out personal information and always verify!
