I called the 888-842-6328 main number for NFCU and confirmed that the 703-272-2013 phone number is from a their headquarters location where they have a call center. So call center to me means they will have several departments that handle several different things (i.e. welcome messages for new customers, mortgages, etc.). If you call the main line they should be able to tell if it has been noted on your account if they attempted to reach you from said call center. Never hurts to ask!

Also: I was able to confirm that calling that number back will not work because it does not accept inbound calls only outbound. Typically if you receive a welcome message they will give you a separate inbound number that DOES work, possibly a 540 area code as that is what my representative's direct line began with. 540 is a Northern VA area code.

Received call from (703) 272-2013. She said she was the teller that helped me on Saturday, I was in the branch that day. She said she made a mistake and needed to rule out my account. Called customer service and they confirmed phone number and get that agent on phone. She didn't say what the mistake was but she confirmed transaction.

Got a call from this number today no message could not call back called bank they said there was no note against our account and to watch out for possible scam because they had other calls like this.

I received a call from this number..my last name is hard to pronounce but I know with dealing with banks if they don't know how to pronounce your last name they will simply ask for "Nicholas" they completely butchered my name and sounded like they were uneducated scum by their tone. A week later Navy federal brought to my attention that my credit card was halted due to suspected fraudulent activity. I am almost positive whoever attempted to use my credit card also called me to get my information. It is very easy to make a phone call from a different number, there are apps on your phone that can disguise your number as another and it is my belief that these scumbags used this number to attempt to scam me. Be careful

Lot of people saying this is the Navy Federal Credit Union but if that's the case I don't know why they would be calling me. I wasn't in the Navy, I've never been a member of the NFCU or any credit union for that matter, and I certainly don't have a mortgage with the government. I'd bet money that it's another scammer with a call masker calling from India trying to get money. It's funny how the government knows these scams are going on and they do nothing to stop it.

It's legit, it's not only for mortgage, if you have outstanding payments they call from this number to reach you!
