I just received a call from 713-981-0098 saying a collect call from some corrections facility. I immediately hung up. Then tried the number back it rang busy. Then got on goggle checking it out,and found this site. I knew it was crap because this happen to me another time years ago but different number.

This is a scam. It comes in all forms this one is in Spanish informing you that someone in Mexico is making a collect call. DON'T ANSWER.

I received a collect call from this number, it was. Supposedly a corrections facility. Do not have anyone in jail in Texas' why does scammers do this?

Absolutely right. Someone went to jail and tenure trying to call you. Not a scam. Wound up being my brother on the other end.

Got a call from this 8:30pm Saturday night. Message indicates that my mobile doesn't accept collect calls and that the call is being placed collect from LAPD Van Nuys jail. Don't know anyone who got arrested yesterday so not sure if this is a legit call or not.

This call comes from a local jail in Houston. Do not reply unless you have some one in there. But Beware it's a scam devised by inmates encarcerated to get your had earned info.

I have 2 calls from this number leaving me voicemails glad I looked this up it was driving me crazy I don't know anyone in a Texas jail dirtbags out there will try anything these days

I agree with that logic dont be duped by the urgency of the call, never answer the phone from someone you do not know, dont read anything in to the situation, if it's important they will call back, and if they landed in jail, then they must have deserved it, or are serving it, in any case there's not much a person who even cared could do about it anyway. Wait until someone reliable comes through, then its safe to believe you could to act on it.
