My borther is jail I can not pick up the call

My boyfriend has been calling me from a (713)913-0098 and he's incarcerated in the NORTH COUNTY CORRECTIONAL FACILITY in CASTAIC, CALIFORNIA. The phone system in the jail he's in uses Global Tel Link. He's been calling me since October 9, 2015. And every time I run out time on my pre-paid account, I would always re-up $25.

This is a Global Tel Link phone number. All inmate phone calls go through the GTL proxy in Texas and will therefore start with a 713 area code. It uses a pre-paid system. I have an account with GTL and I put $5 for my friend in a N. Cal prison to call me. It is legit. What might be happening is that either a prisoner is trying to scam people into call forwarding their calls with a trick to reach "blocked" numbers like other gang members. It also could be someone spoofing the call source to get identity information because GTL is so widely used to make legit calls by... CRIMINALS. So they are very knowledgeable about GTL systems.

You can block the number. I did it through my phone company. There is also a National Do Not Call Registry you can sign up for and add that number to it. No one I know has been in jail so I knew something was weird.I'm in CA and got calls to call the LA Men's Central Jail. My call came from a TX Global Link number 713-981-0098 and some guy said I had to talk to his "Sgt." and he'd tell me who it was. Told me to call *7215629919554, which is an LA number. I knew what *72 did so reported it to my phone company who told me it's a scam that's been going around for years. They want to charge collect phone calls to your phone. If you do set your phone to 'forward' calls, an inmate (or anyone) can call your phone number...it gets forwarded to the 562 number I would have forwarded it to...and it never rings on my phone...but the 562 forwarded number accepts the phone call...and it gets charged to my phone.

They just called me , I called the sheriff of San Diego county , I have to call the Escondido Police department to make a report . I know this was a scam , so don't fall for it . I even put it out on Face Book , your welcome to look me up and add your comments .
