I keep getting the call too. When I pick up, it's automated. I can't tell you what it says because I'm half asleep when I answer being that I work nights and they call me 8am. Someone left a message this morning, so I listened and called the number they told me to. I was very stern with the Indian woman on the other line (seems like all they have is Indian people working there) and told her don't ever call again. I gave her my name and cell phone number and she apologized. Haven't gotten a call the rest of the day. I am from Long Island, NY and have no connection to Macy's/Bloomingdale's whatsoever. I never shopped there and never had a reason to. Can't figure out how they got my cell phone number either. I never made it public.
They have been calling for months now. Noone ever says anything when you pick up, they never leave a msg. I am on the do not call list. I do have a Macy's card but this HAS to be a fraud considering they DO send you paper bills by mail... you don't just have to check on-line like some people think. My big complaint is they called us now 3-4 times at 10:30pm or 11:00pm at NIGHT during the week & weekend. It's SUNDAY for god's sake & they just called again! They will be sued I will get to the bottom of this. Watch your bank accounts & credit cards!
Well, despite them saying they won't be calling me again, they did. They left a message (hardly audible with a thick Indian accent). So I called back the number they gave me: 1800-973-6229 and had to enter a false account and false last 4 digits of my SSN. It didn't go through properly, so they connected me with an operator. I asked her what company she works for and she said to me FDS Bank, which handles accounts for Macy's and Bloomingdale's. This woman was American and I asked her why so many Indian sounding people have been calling and she said they are calling from India. So we had a little spat back and fourth about why they kept calling me and she says I must have had business with Macy's at one point. I told her I do not shop there or Bloomingdale's either. She asked me if my name was Clement Richards and I told her no, then she said well that's the person who's number that I was calling from. I told her I have had the same cell phone number for the past 4 years and I was the only person to hold this number. That is not me by a long shot and I'm not calling from a 646 area code like she suggested. She then asked the number which I called from and she told me the number I gave her belongs to a Macy's account holder - Bella Suarez from Valley Stream, NY. I told her that is not me and I do not know that person at all. She said that was all the information she needed for them to not call me any more. Apparently they messed up my phone number by one digit and that's how the misunderstanding occurred. I asked her how hundreds of people on the internet are having the same problem and she couldn't answer that. She denied that there is any fraudulence occuring on their part. She claims they are a legit agency that deals with Macy's account holders. Hey, I got further on this call than I did in the past, so I'll take her word for it that I won't be called again. At least I could have a conversation with her without asking her to repeat herself because I couldn't understand her, like the other [***] I dealt with from India beforehand. Again, she said she was calling from FDS Bank, which handles accounts for Macy's and Bloomingdale's. It's NOT a collection agency. Do not give out any information to them except your phone number. Don't give your name either. The phone number is all they need to pull up on the screen to see who's account it is. Once she found out that it wasn't my account and someone elses, she said I wouldn't be bothered again and that it was a misunderstanding.Hope this helps.
this number calls my home phone twice a day at 8:04 and 9:30 am. it is annoying because I worked at night and these hours in the morning is my bedtime and just getting to sleep. I want this calls to stop.
Two calls in two hours from this number - looks like I'm on for the ride now too. Maybe contacting Macy's is the answer - but like the last post, I also didn't answer. Ignore annoying people and they usually go away.
Use android app MrNumber to block all calls from area code 513 and 727 and never shop at Macy's again
Have begun receiving calls on my cell phone from this number. Calling at least twice daily. Left one message saying it was "regarding an important business matter". I do not recognize this number. Also do not have debt to be collected, so this is nothing more than a nuisance.
This number calls me all day long. They say on a recorded message that they have a message for me and to please wait for a rep. I want to speak to someone so I can tell them that I do not have any credit cards at all and to stop calling. After being on hold the phone always just hangs up. I' m so tired of it.
