This number belongs to a company called Portfolio Recovery, a collection agency.

At one time they had about a hundred voip numbers. The FTC sued them this year and now they are limited to maybe 10 numbers that have to be registered numbers.

You sound like one of the ignorant trolls from Portfolio. Everybody knows your number, troll. Hope you lose your job and Portfolio goes belly up.

This a__ H___! woke me up to harass me about recovery of a bill which I do not have. How do thse weirdos get numbers that are unlisted? How can I sue them?

757 953 7007 is a debt collector, portfolio recovery. they buy old charge-offs & then hound the heck out of you to pay something the original co already settled.

Don't answer the phone calls from these scum bags.

I actually had them call me the day my grandfather had died. I was already upset. They were calling about an old contract w/ Golds Gym ( which I thought I had terminated because I moved to a town they were no where near) anyhow I explained to the woman what was happening, I was actually driving, etc. she kept hounding me for a payment- I told her no, that I needed to research what was happening, why I was being pursued. The woman on the other line actually called me a [***]! No lie! Years later I worked for a major credit lender (I was a repo agent- but always a nice one!) a girl I worked with had said she used to work with them & let's say your name is John Smith- they can actually pursue any John Smiths (let's say you live in Miami) in Miami! (Especially if the company is someone like Publishers Clearing House or Columbia- where you can buy products, but no SS# is ever given) I couldn't believe it! Yes, I may have (& I do) owe debt. But, I've seen this company (& how convienant they never write medical debt in your credit report) literally take a medical debt I had back in 2000 & persue me until 2011! I thought 7 years was the max.... Not with these people. And rude, rude, rude.

Veronica, I live in Florida too. I used to work for CapitalOne credit. (I was a repo agent- but I was a nice one!) I actually called the Florida Bar Association about the same people. (They work for free or very little charge- getting their degree but they still have to work with an actual working attorney/lawyer) and I don't k ow where you are, but I'm in Hillsborough Co & you can call 211- they will give you ANY county/state related info you need. From medical help, to free food to animal help. They're awesome. Anyhow, I'm sure they would be happy (again, if available) to get the Bar Association's # for you. After working in debt collection, I know what can & can't be done. These people cross the line. Severely. Look for my other post in this topic. How they aren't sued daily, I'll never know. Trick is catching these sharks. But seriously, call the Bar Association. They hounded me over an debt for an 11 year mark. Craziness. And I just got my first call again today. I'm not opening that can of worms again. I'd rather take the credit hit.

I used to work for a collection agency. A decent humaine one. Get what is called a cease & desist letter, have it notarized & send it. They LEGALLY can not contact you again. And you can verbally use that phrase & I think you have 30 days of silence to provide that letter.
