So I got this call 757-963-7007, asked if I was (first and last name) and I responded "yes it is" and then the guy, started reading a script of a 1-800# so I ended up hanging before he can even finish the full number ... couldn't even say my last name right ... CLICK hopefully the "yes is it" is not going affect them by opening any accounts ... and I thought you got 3 times per months to call ...
Portfolio Recovery is a bottom-feeder debt collection agency. They buy old, out-of-statute debt for pennies on the dollar, and go after whoever they can get to pay them. I have been dealing with them off and on for a few years now. They are after credit card debt from my ex-wife, back in the late 90's. #2FB #GetALife
Wow John! I opened an account at Bank of America less than a year ago after being a customer of Sovereign Bank, which then turned into Santander Bank and they ROYALLY screwed me!! I thought Bank of America would be better than Santander, but I've come to realize its NOT. After reading your comments, I was wondering which bank YOU would recommend. I am in Rhode Island.
I lived in florida for 17 yrs & I owed $1400 for a hospital bill that I had already paid them them $6000.00 & the lady said you need to pay it all right now & I told her I need a month to get the rest of money & they sold off the debt to vultures. So shady debt collectors kept calling & I never answer a # I don't know & they don't leave a message, so they started with letters trying to get anything they could buy cutting debt in half so on & so forth. The statue of limitations on unsecured debt is 4 yrs. I have credit karma & they notified me that debt was removed by law & statue of limitations was up.

Someone using this number called, when I answered there seemed to be there cut I said "hello" twice and no one said a thing. I hung up. If it was a collector they would not only answer but keep you on the line for as long as it took.

Yes. The caller claimed to represent Document Delivery Services and threatened to serve me with papers from a fifteen year old debt. A check with my local County Clerk’s Office revealed no evidence of lawsuit filed.
