Got a call from this number. Didn't answer. Called at 3:20pm on a Monday, while I was at work.

i keep getting calls to my phone number and don't know who they are? please report them and have them stop calling this number.
They called me this morning. Someone named Shamiqua (sp?). I am listed as J, not Jeff. So she called looking for a Jennifer...kept hounding me that if I knew her..blah blah. Same old tactic. BTW - I had another company do this and I sent a complaint to my state Attorney General and months later, I received a check for $250 for harrassment against that company. Class Action Lawsuits work if enough people from your state do the same. I highly recommend it.
I never answer numbers that don't ID themselves, and from looking them up on this board I'm glad I don't. Realize that these calls are scams. They get your number FROM the Do Not Call List. Debt Collectors are exempt in the law, so they get a copy of the DNCL and start calling them claiming a bogus debt. Many people pay in the hopes that they will go away, so the scam works overall. The problem is that the people who pay just to get them to go away are tagged as suckers and the problem gets worse. Read through the other posts on how to complain and get a class action law suit started.

Someone using this number called, when I answered there seemed to be there cut I said "hello" twice and no one said a thing. I hung up. If it was a collector they would not only answer but keep you on the line for as long as it took.

Yes. The caller claimed to represent Document Delivery Services and threatened to serve me with papers from a fifteen year old debt. A check with my local County Clerk’s Office revealed no evidence of lawsuit filed.
