Do you have kids or grandkids that might have student loans? These people called and I actually got to talk to a person after the 15th time. I've been unemployed for 2 years and they were able to put my loans into deferment for 1 year and the 2nd year my minimum payment was $10 (at least I pay something, just not much). The problem is until I was finally able to talk to these people they were calling everyone that I had ever put down as a reference for the loan - my parents, grandparents, and my best friend! All you can do is if you can talk to them tell them that they don't live with you and you have no way of getting in contact with them. Then tell that person that this is about their student loans and you don't appreciate the calls to you. Hopefully they'll get the hint and deal with this and also that you are not to be used as a reference again! :)

They call me nonstop. 3 times a day from this number. There is also an 877 number calling once or twice AND about 3-5 from "unavailable." Actions can be taken and if you look into it you'll find they're breaking MANY collection rules

You can also ask the telephone company to call these people to verify that you JUST received the number. It used to be that phone companies would hold a telephone number for 6 months so that collections from the old owner would stop before giving it out again - but that is no longer the case and all collection agencies assume you are lying. If they have written proof that you just got the number and it does not belong to their debtor they have to stop contacting you immediately - you can notify the BBB and well as the creditor harassment centers if they do not.

All day almost everyday, I get multiple calls from this number... Noone is there when I pick up.Can anyone make them STOP!!

they called me two times in 20 min. i just started handing the phone to my 18 month old, and try not to let them hear me laugh.

Anybody out there who has been called about a student loan that is more than 26 years old?

that number called me and I just have a 1 time use prepaid cellphone.Oh btw. the number made me wake up and walk all the way thru the house to pickup my phone
