Calls everyday. I finally answered and someone named Bill came on the line asking for someone unknown to me but with the same last name. When I told him that this person was not at this number he asked to verify the number so that he could remove it from the list. When I refused, (afterall he called me) he said that I would continue to receive calls. I said "I think not! I've informed you that the person you are seeking is not at this number and have asked you politely not to call again. If you do call again I will report you and your company to the authorities."

Well, they called again so I promptly filed complaints with the FTC, BBB, and my state AG. Just got a letter from the BBB with Sallie Mae's response that the will remove my number from their system.What I believe happened is that in their search for the borrower they found my number in the telephone directory which is listed with my first initial and last name which is the same as the borrower's (whom I have no knowledge whatsoever). Since this was a fishing expedition they should have stopped when I told them that they had the wrong number. Anyway, if you have a complaint contact the BBB or better yet call Sallie Mae 888-545-4199. Worked for me.

They keep calling and calling!!!

They keep calling and calling, and when return the call you get static or a busy number...

I has been getting call from this number and all I can hear when I answer is static. I am getting tire of them; so if someone knows how can I block this number I will deeply appreciate it.

If it is USAFunds calling you, then the worste thing you could do is either hang up, or give the phone to your kid! They are a branch under U.S. Dept of Education. This means that you have a Federal Loan (i.e. Stafford loan, or Parent Loan) which you are getting ready to default on. Eventually, when you do default, they can put a lein on you through the IRS, plus process you for wage garnishment (by the way, they do not notify you of this....you just quit getting almost 20% of your gross pay!). Plus, they automatically tack on 19% of your total loan to cover their "legal" and "collection" fees. On top of this, they send you to a collection agency that works with government loans (which means your screwed). Lesson learned...talk to them while you can, there are tons of options! I wish I would have known about all this earlier, before racking up over $2,000 in default fees, and getting money directly taken out of my paycheck.

been getting calls from this number for a couple weeks now. we don't answer but our machine kicks on and a message of just a LOUD crackling noise records on our machine. this happens every day!!picked up once by mistake and the line just went dead when I answered.

I get calls from this number every single night. There is no one on the line - just static. I don't owe anyone any money. I have no idea why they started calling me or how they even got my number. I have complained to the ftc. Not sure if they will do any good at all.
