Good Lord, some of you have no idea how your insurance works. Your health insurance provider (UHC, BCBS, etc.) likely contracts with a pharmacy benefit manager, such as Medco, for ALL of your prescription benefits. Whether you're filling your prescriptions at a retail pharmacy or through the mail-order pharmacy, if you have Medco, Medco handles both. Using the retail pharmacy for maintenance drugs increases your own costs and contributes to rising health care costs for everybody. And your insurance sponsor, such as your employer, ends up with higher costs, and those costs are eventually passed on to you in the form of higher premiums. Is it annoying to receive the calls? Perhaps. Is it illegal? No. Do I work for Medco, another PBM, or any insurance company? No. I just have a clue.
Same story as all of you. Multiple calls, no message. My wife uses Medco but I do not.
The number is from Medco, and they are calling you to talk about YOUR prescription benefits. Not a telemarketer, they are probably the company that handles your prescriptions. You have insurance, and you probably have a prescription id card with that insurance. That's the reason for the call. If you don't want to wait til they call you, call the number on the prescription id card, and tell them you would like to be opted out of all calls. But DON'T HANG UP. Here's how to get the calls to stop, if you are getting called, and don't want to be called anymore. When they call, actually answer it. Tell them you would like to be opted out of all phone calls, and DON'T hang up. Wait until they get the correct information, and be patient, it doesn't take long at all. Also, make sure that you tell them you want EVERYONE in your home taken off. That way you won't get a call for ANYONE. Once they have the information, it takes a few days for the calls to stop. But once it stops, it stops. Just be patient with the person you are talking to, they are only doing their job, they aren't there to make you angry, they are there to do the right thing, and make you aware of your benefits, and if you don't want to use them, and want off, they will kindly take you off. They are not a scam, or telemarketers, and it doesn't matter if you are on a do not call list, they actually do have something to do with you. I hope this will help anyone that wants the calls to stop. It's really easy, I called them because I too was tired of the phone calls, and was told all of this. If I would've known that, I wouldn't have kept hanging up on them. The guy I talked to had me off the list, and I haven't had a call since.
L(DubU)^^ This.... ROFL!!That is so funny! This is a legit company wanting your business. If your insurance company gave them your number, (thanks, insert your insurance company here) then they are not in violation of FCC rules. That is why they keep calling back. However, once they have called and you decline and tell them to take your number off their call list they cannot call back or they would.... then.... be in violation. You can then use the numbers already posted to report. The first call is to verify that your number is correct. This is just call-back screening software which is why many of you recieve no answer when picking up the first time. When you do speak to someone do not give any personal information over the phone. Tell them that you do not wish to be contacted by phone and that you will call MEDCO yourself if you wish to take advantage of their program.Caller: Medco wanting your business.
Have recvd numerous calls from this number and no one ever on the line. Called back and got busy signal.
My cell phone has been called three times in the last two days by this number. I ignored the first two and answered the last only to hear beeps.
They call me every few days. It is getting really annoying now. Is there a way I can put my cell phone on the do not call list for Medco or whatever numbers they're calling from?
Received a robocall, today, from 772-335-4498. Caller i.d. shows it as Medco Pharmancy. Looked them up and sent an e-mail asking them to remove my number from their list, that I am on the national do not call list, and that the next call would be reported to the NC Attorney General (whose office does a pretty good job at discouraging these types of calls!) Don't know what the outcome will be, but it's worked with other calls! HA!
