This is one of the ways Medco uses to try and get business. If you, and others who work for your employer, listen and perhaps decid to use Medco, then Medco will go to your employer and tell them that they're in contact with employees and your employer should contract with them to provide their employees' prescriptions.If your employer does this, you're seriously screwed.Medco is notorious for harrassing people, whether or not your employer has contracted with them. My employer did contract with Medco, and those perverts constantly hounded me to use their services because they were cheaper. However, one of the meds I take is for high blood pressure and I don't trust Medco to get the prescription correct, so I pay for it out of my pocket.So Medco called my physician and told her that they were my pharmacy and she should give the prescription to them! Fortunately, the doctor's office called me first and I told them that, as usual, Medco lied.I then called Medco, and talked to a "pharmacy technician" who first said that he had to look up my "file" and then said that he had personally talked to my physician and "he" said I should switch to another med! When I told the Medco guy that my doctor was a she not a he and Medco had no business calling my doctor, he started babbling and then hung up on me.

THEY NEVER ANSWER, YOU HEAR SOMEONE BREATHING AND THEY HANG UP SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. VERY PROFESSIONAL! I WISH THEY WOULD DROP DEAD AND QUIT CALLING!

Just because MedCo doesn't know about it doesn't mean it's not their number. The person you talked to may not have a reason to know about it because the call centers are used for different purposes.
