Got same recording as above. Elected to speak to a rep, told her I didn't want to be called anymore. She promptly hung up on me.
called from 772/664-4005 when out of house (Caller ID). Called next day 4/30/08am thinking it might be cell phone to ask who called us (insurance? possible request for another person to hire?) Woman did NOT give her name, gave me song and dance re:how many calls she received past two weeks, said number changed to -4050. NOT SO!Wish to have call traced by authorities who really are authorities. She also said her telephone location was her home, not business.
4-24-08 12.10PM Received a call from this #. Do not answer unknown calls. Caller left no message. I, too, am on the "do not call" list.
Just received a call myself. I pushed the button to see who was calling. A person picked up and when I asked what company he was with he told me the auto warranty division. I politely told him that he was lying as I don't have auto coverage through a no-name company. Seems that he didn't like the fact that I caught him in a lie and he hung up. Number does come back to Sebastian, FL but no company or residence.
I got a call from these people, and there was a recording saying that they wanted to lower my credit card rate, and to press 1 to speak with a representative. So I did, and when he answered, he asked who he was speaking with, so I asked him who he was calling. With which he replied, to primary credit card holder. "Which credit card?" I asked, and I was given a whole list of credit cards. "So, your not really trying to lower my credit rate?" I said, and of course the answer was "No."Then when I asked to be put on the 'do-not-call' list, he promptly hung up.
I also received the call with a recording saying I could receive a lower interest rate on my credit card, just press one to proceed. Of course I just hung up. The first clue it is fraud is the fact they never stated in the recording any company name, just "a credit card". I thought about pressing 1 and just messing with them. I was actually interested in how they would go about trying to get my information, what kind of questions they would ask. The scary thing is so many people would not realize they are scum, and give up all the info. What I am wondering is what part of the country are you in, those that have received the call. I am in Kansas. I'm just curious if it is isolated to one area, or all over. This may help us in fighting these scum. Thanks.
