they called me twice on both cell phones..I am a Saskatchewan resident....i noticed if they don't hear what they want..they hang up..first time they phoned one was a female, the other was a male.
This is an Automatic Dial and Announcement Device (or ADAD) - thought that these were unlawful?? Anyway, these dial numbers and play a recording...'You have won a free trip etc - just press 1 to enter. If you press 1; your caller information are transferred (generally to a US Call Centre) for the sale.The phone company cannot assist (or will not) as it is difficult to trace and if it is a US originated call, the centre is not breaking US law - just annoying us.To stop it, if a landline, subscribe to call block ($2-3 a month) and block as they change numbers; or press one and ask to be taken off the list (this may or may not work - again by the reputation of the call centre)If a mobile, hang up and save the number in your directory as Do Not Answer or Telemarketing - then change the ringtone for that number to mute.That does not help for this call as I am roaming, but may help the next 'special'. received this call telling me that I had won a vacation, and asked if I had a visa, at that point I hung up.I don't do buisness over the phone with credit cards with people I do not know
