Hire a lawyer, call the BBB, and make a compliant when your card is blocked and there is fraud on your card just rememeber we tried to help you. By the way the name is TERRY. We ask to verify the name so we are talking to the CH not someone else there are fedreal privacy laws like HIPPA. You cant give out helath info to anyone same goes for us. AND if we where doing ANYTHING with your card WHY would be call and admit to it.
Called, but left no message. Read this board, called them back. It was a legit call, did not ask for any info except my name/phone number. Correctly identified my bank and two internet orders I made, one from Japan, as well as the company/correct amount for both orders. I verified I made the orders, she said they were just checking to see if they were valid charges. Very polite young woman.
We're not tacky. We do our job, and many times out of it people make it hard when we are just trying to save thier cards. It just gets frustrating sometimes when people don't even call their banks to make sure. that's all we really ask.
Call customer service. But remember this if your card stops working WE are the ones who blocked it to help you. We get are info from your bank. So call them ask to speak to someone in the fraud dept, and let them know the Star Network called to verify with you. Then go online and look up star network you will SEE FDR owns them. AND that is who we are and by that way we also make your card out of OMAHA. NE
I'm glad to know it's legit. I just had a similar experience myself. I called the number back and I waited for them to ask me something personal like my account number, ss#, bank account number etc...But, they asked nothing. Just wanted to verify my phone number, my name which they had both. Then read off three or four purchased that I had made online the night before. IT was all legit. So, I guess (at least I do hope) that I have nothing to worry about..
I received the call too, thought they were fraudulent based on the answering (hold) message. Checked with my bank, they are legitimate. HOWEVER, the comments from people that work there on this website are, 1. grammatically incorrect and 2. inappropriate for customer service. One poster resorts to name calling. When I spoke to a rep, I told him that there needs to be more info in the opening hold message to identify who they are. Because there wasn't, I thought they were scammers.
Sunday 12/28 I get this call from, you guessed it Terry Falconi (male). He stated that he had my info on my passed purchases and that he was verifying a Transaction review on my atm card. He said that he would put a hold on my card and that i was to go to my credit union on Mon, at tell them about this call. I dont know who to believe at this point. But rest assured I will be at my credit union when those doors open.
OK everyone stop freaking out. This number is LEGITIMATE. They called my cell phone (which is the number I have on record with the bank) to ask about some debit purchases on my boyfriend's debit card (he has a separate account, but the bank may not have provided his business number or has it listed secondary, whatever.)So I had him call them back. All they ask for is the number the message was left on and your name. And then ask about some debit purchases that were flagged for whatever reason. In our case, the transactions were all legit. What flagged it is that one of the companies is based in the UK, and this card has never been used outside the country (it was an online purchase.)Everything is fine. No one tried to steal personal information. No one asked any fishy questions. It is not a scam.Again, THIS ONE IS LEGIT.
got this call and he said that i had some purchases at 3:11am-3:17am on 12/28. Of course that is when i am sleeping so i am very concerned if this guy is legit or a fraud and some got my info.
