Received two calls from 1-800-327-8622. On second call a message was left on answering machine stating my name and to call back to verify transactions made with my bank.Did some checking and was told call was legitimate and to return call to them for verification. Did that and all was asked was telephone number I called from and my name. Also, verified transaction I made and knew I had a problem earlier.

OK, I went ahead and called the number they left and as "A in PA - 14 May 2008" stated, they don't ask for anything more than your phone number and name. They provide the rest of the information for you to verify. Nothing fishy/phishy here.

I received a call from a Terri Falconie on my answering machine, telling me she was with Transaction Review Department representing my bank (Northwest Savings) and wanted me to call her to verify some recent transactions on my Bank Debit Card. The number she wanted me to call was 1-800-327-8622. I immediately called my bank, who in turn, contacted the banks' security and fraud department. I received a call back within 10 minutes from the person I contacted at my bank, who in turn told me that this was a LEGITIMATE call. When I called the number back, they asked me for the phone number which they had called, verified my name, and read off a series of recent charges on my debit card to include where it was used, the date and amount of the transactions. To my delight, the transactions were all legitimate. This is all they asked for...and for them to have this much information tells me they must be legitimate or they are the best information collecting scam artists ever and would have never had to call me if they already had this much information if it were a scam! But, they are legitimate! This is a real place and this company is considered a third party security firm, and they monitor card transactions to try and catch identity and card theft. They are contracted through the corporate headquarters of these banks and financial institutions so many of the local banks may not necessarily know about them. So do as I did, call your banks customer service and I am sure they can find the validity of the caller. In my case, this was a totally legitimate call. I did not assume that the call was legitimate, I checked it out first. There is always merit in being prudent!

These guys are legit. I got a call from then on Feb 9th and wasnt home to answer the phone. Three days later on the 13th I discovered 2800 dollars missing out of my account that was charged over seas in Saudi Arabia. WTF. If i was able to answer the phone....it might have been prevented!

received a call from this number. they never asked me any personal information, but they knew the three last transactions i made on my debit card. never asked me anything like a card number or social security number. they were making sure i did make over $1400 in purchases on my debit card over the internet to stores in the UK. they were a company associated with fraud at my bank.

I am in the middle of a move to another state so my card has been used in GA and SC for the last few weeks (my husband has a dupe card in SC). This company called Sunday on my home phone and then called on my cell and left msgs. I questioned it, of course, but looked the number up on here. I also know that very few people would have my cell number. I called it. She asked first for the number that they left the message on. I gave her my cell number. Then she asked for my name and I told her. Then she listed 3 charges with amounts and locations (ie, $25 at Walgreens for example) and asked me to verify that I had made those charges. I simply replied yes to each. She thanked me and said that they were simply trying to verify that it was me using the card. This is a legit service call. But - to be honest - to the person replying here that they work for the company and using the really awful grammar (ebonics?), you should delete your replies. I know you are trying to be helpful but those replies with that kind of grammar and attitude are the worst possible advertisements for your company. You are judged on your public persona.

Received a call from 800 327 8622. I do not answer any phone call if I do not know the caller. These people do not identify themselves in a clear & precise manner instead choosing to mumble their name. I ignore these types of calls. If the bank wants to speak to me they can phone with a caller ID line and ask if a transaction is legit. If legit I suggest you leave a message containing my name, the banks name & the last 4 digits of the "Suspect" account. They DO NOT have my authority to give out my information to any third party nor do I have the obligation to speak to them.I once had an incident where my GF's Discover card (my account) was stolen from her purse at work. The thief used the card at a gas station & apparently was going to sell discounted gas but Discovers computer shut the card down at the second gasoline purchase. They telephoned me & asked if I had just bought gas. They told me NO ONE buys gas 2 or 3 times in an hour unless the card is stolen. Now I have 3 checking accounts & each has a debit card attached so unless a caller can tell me what bank account they are speaking about I wouldn't know. If these callers were from bank "C" I had paid my auto insurance premium just a day before with the debit card. Want to check call, "The Hartford" & ask them if they took my debit card for someone else's premium. If they shut my debit card there will be one more bank added to the list of banks I won't do business with. If the Bank can't contact me directly on a matter of such great importance I don't need to keep my $$$ with them. Banks need to earn your business not expect it. Having third world country boiler rooms calling customers with all my personal information available does not pass for security to me. If you can't tell I'm unimpressed & pissed off at these actions, reread my post. Bank A, B or C one of you is about to loose my business. Who wants to step up & accept the blame??

I got a call from this number yesterday. They did NOT ask me for my card number, but did verify other less sensitive information. They were calling because some company tried to charge $1025.00 to my debit card. It is fraud. I called my bank this morning and the card was cancelled yesterday and the $1025.00 charge was posted as fraud and disallowed. You should take this seriously, and as long as they are not asking you for your card number or SSN number you shouldn't be so suspicious.

Someone called my parents' house this morning on behalf of my bank regarding suspicious charges. It was an automated message and the recording referenced this 1-800 number. My mom noticed that it was not the bank's phone number and thought it was strange that the caller ID showed as "out of area" and not as the credit union. She called me and sure enough after looking at my account activity, there have been a number of fraudulent charges on my card over the past two days. I called my bank and they said that no one from their fraud department called my parents' house, but I advised that there has in fact been fraudulent charges on my account. I closed my account and am going to file for fraud for those charges. My mom called the 1-800 they left just to investigate and they stated that their company is one the credit union uses to monitor these types of situations. The person she spoke with verified my bank name and did not ask for any additional information (i.e. they did not ask for my card number, SS#, etc.)After reading through everything posted here, I am inclined to believe they are legitimate and I may not have noticed the fraudulent charges this early without them. So, thank you Terri Falconi(s).

I got a missed call from 800-327-8622 and a computerized voice left a partial message that said they wanted to talk to me about debit card charges and that I needed to call them back at 800-437-5681. I first called my bank and checked my account and everything was fine. I was suspicious because I don't use the number they called with that card/account. Then I Googled and found this site about both numbers, so decided to call but make sure I gave no info. When I called, it turns out it was about a credit card, not a debit card like the message had said! So, checking my debit account of course turned up no flagged or pending transactions! The heavy-accented woman on the phone asked about my last transactions, all of which were valid ones I'd made. The call was quick and easy. All you have to tell them is your phone number (the one they called you on) and name. (A computer does ask you for the last four digits of your card in the beginning, but you can put in fake numbers and go right to a live person.)These numbers are legit.
