I just received a call on my cell from an 866 number that I "ignored" to VM. The call was sent "confirming" that a tech will be arriving tomorrow for installation between 12 and 5. It then went on to state "if this is in error please call 800-333-DISH(3474)" to change the "appointment." There are several problems with this:1) I have not ordered sat-tv at this time or any previous time.2) I would need pre-approval from my landlord and local FD in order to have the dish attached to my building, and the super would've informed me first if it was approved.3) I NEVER EVER give my cell number to any business since I am on a basic plan, and do not need extra calls outside N&WE.4) That cell # is on the DoNotCall registry; therefore, that fact along with #3 above will preclude any "service" calls from any vendor to the cell.

Received 5 calls this week from dish network with the same message as Paul and other posters above. Recorded Call coming from 866-668-8047. Also another man who sounded like a Nigerian (very heavy accent)left message saying he was the technician. This call came from 347-539-9351.Sounds like a scam to et credit card info.

I Called this 1-800-333-3474 and it's telling me that this number is no longer in sevice so no i don't know what to belive aftr reading all these comments now i'm scared to even bother caling this number. i'm really confused. Are they even for real or is it a scam.

I received 5 calls on 4/13/12 from Dish Network 800-333-3474 . . . . the first call came at 2:41, the next at 2:42, the next at 2:43, then again at 2:46 and finally at 2:48.This is pure abuse !!!!!!!

ive received a couple calls myself that i let go to vm if i dont know num i dont answer but they say that i am bein charged because i never returned the equipment and if i call they will send me return labels so i can send equip back and remove the charges i have never had dish and they dont even say in vm who they are

dish network using this customer service (800-333-3474) is some kind of fraud my credit card co .just alerted me.......so they are sending me a form to fil out to investigate them......still dont know how they got my c.c. # to check my credit .......... so be real carefull when dealing with dish netywork

I called this number and the person picked up and there was an unbusiness like conversaion and laughter going on in the background - I asked "where is this dish office located? They hung up on me. Therefore, I am extremely suspicious about the company and the service they claim to provide.

I received a call from them on my cell phone after 7:00 pm. A couple of years back, I had talked to the company about these calls. The person calling me said that they did not have to respect the do-not-call list because I had an Indian name. But the company said that this was an independent company making the calls. They promised they would take care of it; and they did for a couple of years. When I explained this today, the guy just hung up. You can't win. Just boycott Dish TV. Get Cable.
