Received 4 calls one after the other. Didn't answer any of them. They didn't leave any messages. from my past experience these guys are the worst of the worst scammers.
Received a call from this number. A man with an Indian accent said he was calling from Dish Network. I said we are on the do-not-call list and asked if he knew he was breaking the law. The caller then lowered his voice, started talking through his teeth in a low voice and was cursing. I couldn't understand everything he was saying but felt threatened given his tone. I told him that I couldn't hear exactly what he was saying and asked him if he could please repeat what he said. He did, still in a lowered voice, cursing, in a threatening tone, but I still couldn't understand exactly what he was saying. I once again explained that I couldn't exactly hear him, but this time he hung up on me. This call was frightening. I have no idea who this person is, or what their problem is, but this is simply unacceptable, unprofessional, and terrifying. If this call truly is from Dish Network, I hope they will truly remedy their employee's behavior.
I don't have a dish and I don't have cable. I have an antenna. For that goes for TV these days I really don't need anything more than that. I certainly didn't call them so I don't know why they'd be calling me. Obviously it's a scam of some sort.
The reason you get calls despite the DNC list is because scammers #1 don't abide by rules or laws and #2 your telephone # is computer generated. And #3. The CID of the incoming call has been spoofed to reflect another caller, most often, a legitimate company. And if not legitimate, it will be a # that is no longer in use. I don't believe there is ANY way to stop these calls. Best advice.... DO NOT ANSWER any call where you don't know the caller. Even when recognizing the #, there is a possibility, that that # is spoofed to reflect something else. I've even received calls from my home # @ my home #.It's beyond frustrating and annoying. But these crooks will always find a way. Once again.... don't answer!!
Phone rang at 0700 this morning...no one there, but a few seconds later an automated voice said "Goodbye". If this outfit has no respect for me, as illustrated plainly in the above posts, why should I even think about using them for longer than a half second.
This number calls me daily with Dish sign up same as fliers in the mail. It is not a scam it is for real Dish people looking to sign you up for service. Not really friendly at all. Speak to them and ask which channel is next to be turned off...lol, it makes them hang up every time.
Called me at 7 AM, too. Seriously? Had no respect for Dish network before, less than zero now.
Got my call from them this afternoon. Saw Dish in the caller id so did not answer. Of course no message, proving what it was.1) Get a VOIP phone service that allows you to block an infinite number of numbers. I never get a second from any phone spammer. Probably 4 or 5 a month total. I've been on the do not call list for years and it is just another worthless service of the US government.. They (telemarketers) ignore the list and LOL at threats to file complaints.2) Never deal with Dish Network. Its parent company's primary business is *collections*. And they sic them on former Dish customers. If you feel compelled to use Dish and then cancel, do ALL contacting via printed letter and send UPS or certified mail. If you don't have a paper trail you stand a chance of getting reamed out.
