It is impossible to *67 an 800 number. Because they are paying for the call they have a right to know who is calling them and Automatic Number Identification can not be blocked when calling an 800 number.
This is BC/BS nurse calling. It is a service that they provide when you have had a claim. The nurse just wants to give you her name and number in case you have any questions. I think that it is a good service.
male caller wanted my husband to return the call, said he needed to talk to my husband in reference to an important part of his Blue Cross Blue Shield coverage he obtained thru the Village of Versailles. Husband does not work for any village. Did not return the call.
Anthem BCBS calling to inform me of a maternity benefit that's "already part of my policy"...called "Future Moms". Too bad they don't stay current on their claims info...I miscarried over a week ago and I'm sure they've already received the bills to process.
They are relentless. They keep calling over and over again. They call multiple times per day, every day, at all hours, and never leave a message. I've asked them to stop and they say they can't stop because Blue Cross hired them to call me, they take their orders from the insurance company, not from the annoyed person they're calling.
Received a call from this number saying he represented "Condition Care" and it was a way for Anthem BC/BS to offer special services to those with certain/qualifying health conditions, ie COPD, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and asthema. Well, I have NONE of those conditions, have NEVER been tested/treated for any of those conditions, have NEVER been prescribed meds for any of those conditions ... and you all know what I'm saying. I asked where he obtained info that I had/had been treated for one of these conditions and he said, and I quote, "Well, we are paying your health care bills and claims". NOT FOR ME relating to any "special/qualifying" conditions they're not! He asked me to verify my DOB and address to which I refused. When I stated that IF he was with my health insurance company he would already know this info and he could read it to me. He didn't care for that comment. Instead, suggested I call him back on a toll free number he would provide me (800-445-7922 X41141); like that really means anything. You can call any number and they can answer the phone however they want; doesn't mean they are legit. After I again stressed I couldn't understand WHY they would call me regarding any of the listed conditions/illnesses he was sure it was a mistake and would like to "clear up my record". When I again refused to give any info he suggested I call the number on the back of my health card and and asked to be put through to "Customer Service for Condition Care". You betcha I'm going to call my company because, like others, I have NEVER given my permission for my info to be dissemenated to any 3rd party. You can be assured I WILL vent a little to the insurance company about this phone call ... that, by the way, I received at 8:18 PM EST! I don't know ANY insurance company and/or agent representing an insurance company that has EVER been available at that time of the evening! Oh wait, those are the "peak hours" for telemarketers!
I have read that "non profit" and charitable organizations; "800" or "866" do not have to abide by the "No Call Regulations" so at least one company, Outreach Associates has formed as professional fund raisers for many of these otherwise worthy causes. But Outreach does make money for this which makes them a profitable company. Can't they somehow be accountable or do they get away with this by slipping undercover of the 800 or charitable organizations. How can we expose them for what they are and stop these calls.
It is Anthem BCBS. They have a program called complex care. Didn't think I was so complex until they phoned. Their goal is to try to keep you out of the hospital and ER by having a nurse check in on you every other week. The nurse really is just keeping a tally on you ... answers questions that nurses can answer. Give you the sell job that you can call them any time if you need help or have questions. I called a week ago and left a message for my "assigned" nurse, still waiting for a call back.
