Anthem BC Health Coach - A benefit of my health plan to provide assistance with coordination of benefits.
YOU returned the call and didn't believe the way in which the person answered the telephone?
Just received a call and they said it was Anthem promoting a new service to members for no additional cost. She said that it can be researched on their website at anthem.com under the tab 360 health (located in the middle of the screen.) I told them I wanted to look more into the program before activating the service so no personal information was requested. I was given the same extention that someone else had mentioned 41141 and was told I could just call the member services number on my card and give the extention to be connected to a representative for activation.
Missed call from same number. I googled it and ended up on this site. Since I missed it and didn't call back I'm not sure who they are or say who they are.
This is a Blue Cross Blue Shield number which will probably be enrolling you or trying to get you to enroll in one of their "catered" programs for whatever health condition you have (not just well mother or well baby) it could be for a wide range of specialty "programs". Last time I answered a call from one of their "specialty" programs, it was "computerized" no live human, AND it started to ask me a bunch of questions about "new medication" you have recently begun taking, well folks, I don't know about you, but that was where I hung up. What is prescribed to me is between me and my doctor, period. Insurance is there for you to pay for the benefit, then they are suppose to cover your condition and medication according to what you are covered for in your health plan (along with all the other people in your program), when I start getting calls like that it is like a red flag, because I know they will start tracking me (not that they don't already) but the determination of what medication I am on should be between me and my doctor based upon my health condition and NOT per the Insurance Co deciding well you can't take this or that medicine until you have tried this other one, again, they are NOT my Physician. I have in the past worked for several Insurance Companies and I know from personal experience that the "Physican Review" is a load of poo (to put it nicely), it is either one or several phsycians that are being paid BY the Ins. to look out for the Insurance Co's interest NOT the patient's! So I have an aversion to getting into any discussion (particularly recorded ones) with Insurance Co's or potential 3rd party vendor callers!
Wow, do you have anything Positive to contribute or are you just here to criticize everyone? Or maybe you're from this company and are one of those people who just goes online to promote their own company under the guise of being a legitimate contributor to the discussion. At any rate, I've been getting calls (hang-ups) from this number recently, and from what everyone's saying it sounds like the same company that was calling me for a while several months ago. I had specifically told them to take me off their list. I don't remember the name they gave me for their program, but I have United Healthcare and other people say they have Blue Cross, so it's probably a company that has contracts with several insurance companies. I even called United Healthcare to notify them that they do not have my permission to share my contact info. with any third parties other than my established health care provider(s). If this company continues to call me I will ask United Healthcare for a letter in writing confirming that they do not have my permission to share information in this way. If this does not work I will contact my state's insurance commission and send United Healthcare a certified letter.
The last time they started calling me they announced themselves as part of my "health care team". Since I had just had a doctor's appointment, at first I thought they were calling from my doctors office with some bloodwork results I had been waiting for. But they started asking me all of these questions that my doctor should have already known, so I got suspicious. The person on the phone wanted me to give out my personal information and private health information, which of course I wasn't going to do. When I asked for more information about their program, the guy just stuck to his script and couldn't answer any of my questions. When he told me that I could use their service and get "personalized" health care advice, I asked if the people who would contact me would be nurses, PA's, MD's, etc. He wouldn't answer my question and just re-read the last line on his script. This certainly doesn't make me inclined to trust them as a "health care" program either. If their telemarketers don't even understand what the program is, how am I supposed to understand it so I can make an informed decision whether or not to participate? Besides, I pay good money for my insurance -- I shouldn't have to get my medical advice from a telemarketer or someone who I can't even meet in person. In my opinion it doesn't really make a difference who these people are, or whether this program (if it's legitimate) is or isn't helpful. You should Never give out personal information on the phone to someone you don't know anything about, especially when you're not the one initiating the call. If my insurance company wants to suggest this program to me they should send me the information in the mail and stop giving out my number. These people didn't seem to already have my private health information, so I'm assuming (hoping) that United Healthcare didn't share any protected health info. with this 3rd-party company. That would be a clear HIPPA violation.
Could you please contact me by mail? My cell phone has developed a problem. When writing, please be comprehensive in your message including your 800 number. ThanksB. Yomoah
