This is a BCBS unsolicited program trying to sell you stiff that costs extra. I.e., an unsolicited, unwanted TELEMARKETING call, with info released by BCBS because of no privacy opt-out. I blocked the number with my new Pro Call Blocker, so they cannot call again. I will send BCBS a opt-out letter for a permanent opt-out and a permanent do-not-call. We di that will all current credit card, bank & mortgage companies too, because they WILL share information and send unsolicited junk mail unless you specifically tell them not to. Because they have "an established business relationship" with you, they can call unless you ask them not to.
Called me at 8pm. Voicemail was half cut off (intentionally) so have no idea who was calling.....just said to call about my health insurance claim and left a number. This is sketchy so I won't be speaking with anyone at this number ever. If my insurance company has new information for me about my coverage or claims, they can send it to me in writing to my mailing address they have on file. Never ever ever give out even your first name over the phone when someone calls you, it doesn't matter who they say they are or how important it is!
Caller ID showed: "Blue Cross Blue". The message stated: "Please return this important call to 800-670-1467" and "If you do not want any more calls, please call 800-670-1467 to be removed from the list". THIS IS AN OBVIOUS TELEMARKETING CALL. Apparently it is from some "add on" company and not the real Blue Cross Blue Shield trying to sell additional insurance. DO NOT CALL THEM BACK -- calls to toll free numbers can not block your caller id and you will just be giving them your name -- and NEVER PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION TO CALLERS. If it's legitimate YOU call the company at a number YOU know is valid.
I received a phone call from them at 9:00 PM. I didn't answer but they left me a voice message saying they wanted to speak to me about some new benefits on my existing health plan. Obviously a telemarketer b/c I don't have any form of health insurance.
Said they wee from Blue Cross/Blue Shield Antham. Providing Complex Care through my husband's employers insurance. They help to provide professionals to talk to or referrals for people with complex medical issues. They are who they say they are. I called the phone number that called me and the one that they gave me.
They just called and left a message. NO WAY is it my insurance company calling me - total scam. PLEASE don't fall for it - it's horrible these types of people are out there scamming others.
Called at 9 am Saturday. Caller ID shown 800-405-1806 and the voicemail message stated: "Please return this important call to 800-670-1467. If you do not want any more calls, please call 800-670-1467 to be removed from the list". When I called back and asked them to remove my number of the calling list, the rep asked for my name. OK, gave her my name! Then, she asked for my BD!????!!!!! I told her "my name and my phone number are sufficient. Call me again, I'll file harassment complaint!"
My concern is that when they called my mother, they said it was "covered" by BCBS, but did not say to what extent. She has been approached in the past by "home care nurses" who were "covered" by BCBS, saying they were "referred" by her Dr.(which in checking they were not), and the coverage was only partial, meaning she had to come out of her pocket to the tune of over a thousand dollars for less than six visits. The entire visit consisted of writing down every medication she was taking, every time they came, asking a barrage of personal questions, and changing several of her perscriptions over to a mail order system so she would not have to drive to the pharmacist. They never set her pills out for her in her pill box, fixed a meal, washed a sheet, made a bed, help her bath, or any of the things I have to do on a daily basis. The only thing they accomplished was costing her more money, both with the visits and with the medications, which ended up having a higher copay than at the local pharmacist because of some nit-picky rule with the insurance company. The insurance company ended up saving money, because more had to come out of my mothers pocket. THERE WAS NO OTHER ADVANTAGE TO THIS SERVICE other than being a pain in the [***] every two weeks.
