Agreed re the spoofing -- a quick Google shows this 800Notes thread first, followed by the "Contact Us" page for the AT&T Universal Card, for both general questions and "Support with a Lost/Stolen Card or Identity Theft".AARGH.

Seriously?? Automated system for ATT Universal credit card (which I do not nor have I ever had). Ask for CC# and then full SSN. What the hell?

Answered the phone (my mistake).! Caller said they have been trying to reach me about my high interest rate on my credit card. Press one to connect to a representative.....I hung up immediately.! They did not identify themself, either.!

Received call on 11/03/2017. Lower interest rates . Foreign accented male. the guy kept on talking even after I said no thanks. Wouldn’t let me speak til I finally said “listen up you moron, quit running scams and get a real job! I don’t have an ATT card either but he tried to get me to say what specific cards I have. He then said you realize I’m the person that approves your credit cards and I’m having all of them cancelled. Told him to just go for it! Then he hung up but was furious that I called him a moron.

This caller claims to be AT &T and when you call it the automated voice says "first, we'll need your credit card number" HMMMMMM I bet they do! Block this one or just don't answer, A SCAM for sure. They must think we are all stupid.
