The number 8005315000 called my landline, I did not answer, but by reading the above , i believe someone is spoofing their number. Yet another scam.

This 800-531-5000 is the number that all of the DTV contracted installers have as their caller ID. The main numbers for DTV is 888-778-8991 or 800- 347-3288 (800directv).

Although this number, if you call it, is a Direct TV customer care number - It appears that one of their contractors or some other scammer is using it for their caller ID... Offering to lower my bill by half for 2 years if I pay 4 months in advance via an amazon gift card or through Western Union. HA!!!! The unsettling things was they had specific info about my account that made them almost appear legitimate until they asked to be paid via a money transfer method that cannot be refunded. This leads me to think Direct TV has some bad eggs in their contractor basket.

They called my NEW husbands phone asking for me by my previous Married name. they had my address where I've only lived for the last 10 years. The first thing they asked for was my social security number and birthdate. When I refused to supply my social they asked for "atleast the last 4 digits". They said I owed money for service from 1989-1990. Here's what's wrong with this:1. I've never been late on my bill in the 8 yrs I've had DirectTV. 2. I didn't live at my address in 1989 or 1990. Not even in the same state!3. I didn't go by my previous Married name they asked for until the late 90's. In 1989-1990, I was still going by my maiden name and hadn't even met my first husband!4.Did DirecTV even exist in 1989??5.If they called me why would they ask ME to verify my identity and why didn't they have MY phone number on record? I've only been married 1 month so why would they call my new husband's phone for me and how did they even have it on record? 6. When I called DirecTV about this, they had no clue who would've called me or why. They didn't even have me in their system by my previous married name like the people who called!

They are scams they run my debit card up to a thousand dollars, I don't have thier service yet and still they manage to get my info. Be very aware direct tv with this number 800 531 5000 they are scams do not do business with them. Most of the employees are foreigners and thieves, the have loose employees that are computer savy and would steal your information.

Yep biggest reddest flag all should see when dealing with any transaction. Just scary that the had all out account info, my name - authorized account user's - billing and package details. Crazy, either an inside job with an outsourced contractor, or they've been hacked and do not know or have not notified their customer base of a breach. Either way a real ATT/Directtv person or department needs to be relieved of their current duties.

DirectTV called three times in the last two weeks - left messages saying they installed a system at our house and we needed to pay (not true - we have never used directTV). We called back right after the last message was sent - operator said they had no record of the call and then hung up on us when we asked to speak with her supervisor. The matter still has not been resolved
