This number has called me repeatedly over the years with a variety of stupid scams. This time they somehow got through to my voicemail and left a message to say that I'm such a good customer, I've won a $100 gift voucher. Oh really? Well, now you're blocked. AGAIN. Aggravating morons.
It's called spoofing, now the scammers and bill collectors can show any number they wish on your caller id
This company told me I owe money on some magazine subscription that I ordered. I asked them which one since I didn't order any. He told me that information was locked up in a vault. What a liar!!!!! I told that Bas%$#@ never to call me again!!!!!
YES! With a Net-10 or TracPhone, or any phone where you can keep a contact list - Just add the number to a contact list, I name it "10 Scam" or anything similar. As the list grows just increment the number. For each of these "contacts" you can save several incoming phone numbers - home 1&2, office1&2, cell, fax, etc. When one Scam contact list fills, just move on to the next - 11 Scam, 12 Scam, etc. Then, when one of your saved numbers calls in it shows up as Scam. You have taken care of the filtering yourself and are not depending on the cell company and its blocked call list. The cell company has no information on or from you regarding the calls, they are just passed through to you to be ignored. This has the added satisfaction of tying up the caller until the ringing times out, about 30 seconds or so of burned connect time on their end.Once you view the incoming call and it shows up as Scam, you can ignore it and it will go unanswered. I usually press the side mounted volume button and that silences the ringer. BTW, I am using an inexpensive flip phone, I just want to make and receive calls and DO NOT want internet or GPS functions.BTW-2, Every number I do not recognize is investigated by me on the net and are then added to this personal Scam list.
Knew that number was familiar. I didn't answer but when I checked my answering machine I got some real scary noises. Low tones----whistle or instrument =====high, low, low= weird sounds. Never heard that before. Never answer my phone anymore---this is a good reason not to.
