Have received 4 calls in 2 days from this number. Also received a few more in September. I listed my cell number on the "do not call" registry on 10/1/2010 but understand you have to wait one month before you can report callers. I also understand bill collectors are not included on the do not call list. I do have verizon and I do not have an outstanding bill. I do not pick up when I see an 800 number come on my screen and they have not left a message.

You are incorrect, I just called Verizon personally and asked them about this number. They said the number in no was was associated with them. She told me no payments are overdue and never have been and advised me to never answer these calls.

It IS a scam. I don't care how legitimate they try to make it seem, I just talked to customer service and they said this number is in no way shape or form associated with Verizon Wireless. She advised me to not answer it and definitely not give them any information.

This IS A SCAM!! I got a call on my phone and did not answer it. My wife is the account holder and I am the secondary person on the account. If this was really from Verizon don't you think she would have gotten he call instead of me?

I went thru every page on this thread and am now convinced it's phishing. Why? Because why would anyone come to this site to defend that a number is legit? If you're receiving a call from someone you trust, you wouldn't google it. And even if you did, you wouldn't care enough to defend them. My vote: scam.

I don't think it's Verizon, after receiving a call from this number on my cell phone and then at my parents house (where they told my father my bill was late and that I needed to call) I called the Verizon number on my bill and asked what they were calling about since my phone bill was paid and up to date. I also asked that they remove my parents' home phone number since I don't live there anymore. They didn't even have my parent's number listed and said maybe someone was calling because I was due for an upgrade on my phone. It's BS, they keep calling my parent's phone number so it is definitely not the real Verizon.

Verizon IM is probably in india, call centers elsewhere.. ive once been told they dont see me being a customer..idiots

I just got a call from this number. It WAS Verizon because I called back. But what is irritating is that they could not see the payment I had already scheduled before they even called me. I told the operator that they may want to invest some time and effort into checking scheduled payments before they start harassing their customers. Over the many years I've been a customer, i have to admit i haven't always been impressed with their customer service. They often appear clueless and I then have to go and do the research and do their jobs for them. Ugghhh!

This is indeed Verizon Financial Services - no scam - no phishing. Just looking for the past due bill to get paid.
