Well, why is it impossible that someone hacked into your account and now knows all of your billing info? They would know all the same info that a collection agency would have. Has anyone paid directly to this number? Of course if you pay online, it will post, and they will stop calling because they will know that you paid. Doesn't mean they're legitimate. No one on this thread has really relevant reasoning behind why this number is legitimate. I just got a call from this number, I'm not the account holder, and my number isn't numerically first. Verizon can't even legally speak to me about billing matters. I know they know this, because I get this crap every time I try to change anything on the account. I've received calls from collection agencies before, and they sure as hell leave messages. This number has not. This is also the first time I've gotten a call from anything Verizon related, we've had this account for the better part of a decade. I will be changing our online account password, bet I won't get anymore calls. How about everyone stop trying to convince everyone whether or not this number is legitimate? Pay your bill through Verizon, if you have an issue with billing...call VERIZON. Even if this is a legitimate number, who cares? I highly doubt it's legit, and I'd rather be safe than sorry, so I won't answer this call (unless I'm feeling inquisitive and want to find out for myself).

Got a message from Verizon (???): "This message is from Verizon Wireless (VAW) LLC. Please contact us regarding your cellular phone account at 1-800-754-0961. We can be reached Monday thru Friday, 8am to 9pm and Saturday, 8am to 5pm. Again, our number is 1-800-754-0961."Is it Verizon?

I got the same call as Kat, I only got the last part of the message. I dont know who it is and dont want to call it back, but im curious. I only got it once.

Whether or not it's VZN or an out-source outfit, it's legit peeps. Sorry folks. I honestly forgot to pay my bill on time this month and yep.. just got buzzed. Personally, at first it's a hassle... then I'm like, ok you got me... at least they didn't cut me off and crush me with a re-connect fee.No such thing as a free lunch, no kidding.

I just had an IM with Verizon's customer service. They do NOT recognize this phone number (800-754-0961) as their's. It seems someone is doin' a little phishing, but I'm not sure of the result of calling this number. Has anyone phoned it?

I believe this is fraudulant. A scam. I think someone who works at Verizon is doing this. It should be investigated.

O got this call too, they left a message. NOt sure but it sounds shady, can this number be reported?
