You guys thinking its a scam are all morons, I get the same call and it's becasue I am a deadbeat with an overdue bill to Verizon. You guys who are claiming it's a scam have unpaid bills too. Idiots.

This is real - I spoke with Verizion rep and had my number removed as a contact point for a Michael Tobias.

i asked verizon just now while I was on the phone with them and the actual number, since everyone wants to just say its a scam or not and not give the real number as proof, is 866-266-1445 this is direct from Camille at Verizon Wireless Financial services. I reached her by dialing 611 and going through customer service and being transfered there. Hope this helps.

Well our payment is not, nor has never been late or overdue and yet I get several calls a week from this number or automated messages telling me to call this number - so no friendly reminder necessary thank you! To top it off... I am not the account holder / primary number on the account, and I know for a fact that they have never once tried to call the primary number - but they won't talk to me because I am not the account holder.Even if it is Verizon... this is harassment and we're considering switching carriers if it doesn't stop.

Got a number from these people 2...Just tell them that you have all their numbers saved in a call log and that if they call again, you will file a complaint to your state attorney generals office, every local state police department you can get a hold of, and the federal trade commission and will bring a lawsuit against them if they call again...100% fact, this works...I have done it...

Definitely Verizon collections, but sometimes they call when I am not only not late, but don't even have a bill due yet (can verify online that I have 0 balance due). My guess is a poor payment tracking system. Annoying, but not malicious.

It IS a scam this number has asked to pay bill over the phone and for private information, a practice that verizon does not do
