Go ahead and switch carriers. If you think this issue is specific to Verizon just don't pay your Bill there either. If you weren't the account owner how would you know the payment was late?
If you had bothered to read what you were signing you would have known about the data charges. All smartphones use data. They were designed to do so. Verizon isn't going to just give you data.
The customer service rep you spoke to is an idiot then because it is a Verizon number.
This is by far the best answer to this particular thread.
I called 8007540961 and reached Verizon Wireless financial services so you have no idea what you're talking about.
then the person you spoke to is a complete idiot.I called 8007540961 and reached Verizon Wireless financial services so they have no idea what they're talking about.
and you are paranoid schizophrenic.
I do have a Verizon account. Nothing in the message left says it's Verizon. Just says that they are calling about the wireless account belonging to Leslie. The caller id actually has a number from the San Antonio, TX area of 210-202-3315. The same call came to my place of employment claiming to be calling about my boss's cell phone which is with AT&T. They called his cell phone and he immediately called me back stating that it was someone wanting information on his account and trying to get them to switch cellular service providers Just call the number on your bill, get the information on your account you need and stop worrying about this number. I'm sure there are more important things in the world to occupy everyone's time.
Asking you to pay your bill is not the same as scamming you. Grow up.
This is an active Verizon financial services number. It is not a scam. You can bypass the (press # for...) and speak to customer service. They will ask you for your password... it is the pin you would type into the phone - if you give them your Verizonwireless on-line password they go into a tail spin. If you do not have your pin, they will query you for the last 4 digits of your social, or other identifying info. The reason for the call? In my case I ordered something expensive. Regardless of the fact that I have been with them for eleven years, they wanted confirmation that the order was mine. (Protecting themselves from BEING scammed). No scam. After the verification I received my new phone three days later just as promised.Same thing happened (same number), after I ordered accessories. This number can take you to: Customer Service for new phones, Billing issues, Technical Service, and Equipment orders.

Yes it did
I didn't recognize the number so I obviously was checking to see who it was
The person called to verify employment of someone, but I didn't recognize the person's name. The caller had an accent, and I couldn't understand them. I didn't call back to let them know they had reached a wrong number.
Quit smoking quit line. Not spam. I used the Quit line to quit smoking. This is a follow up call.
