I got a call this morning from 949-286-3311 and a lady said she was calling from Verizon Wireless and asked for Mr. Don (insert last name) regarding a bill and I told her that this was my phone (duh), and it wasn't registered under my father, which was red flag #1 otherwise they wouldn't have called my cell. They said to have my dad call this 800 number by the end of the day to get the account fixed. Yeah right...

This number just came up on my phone with a caller ID of "[***] [***]". If it really is verizon, they should come up with a better caller ID

Got this 1-800 # on my cell phone. Have an app to help recognize scammers calling ( get several) and the id on it said "[***] [***]" just like that without the quotes.

They call even if u have paid. [***], I've been shut off before after I paid and had a receipt showing payment because they said their pay station was broke. They call paid bill, late bill, or no bill

April 6th -(7425), April 16th - (3311), First one at just after 5 pm. Second one at 8:06 this morning. Hung up when I heard the recording. Did some serious thinking through out the day and in the last 3 months I have only given my cell number to 2 places. Smog Busters, and, Infinity Insurance. If this is common with some of you, then we might be able to narrow down the source. Some larger Corporations Sell their client information once or twice a year. Most of what I'm hearing from you is included in that info. Account names, relationship to, account contact info, Payment date history, Geographic\Demographic info, ect ..... . What is not(supposed)to be included is account number, payment account information, DL number, Social Security number, or account password. If they obtain ANY of those things from you than they can contact their source and, posing as you, have the company send them a copy of ALL of your information. Hope that helps.

They also call you about unreturned equipment that they actual acknowledge receiving, but still insist on charging you.

It is VERIZON - sort of. VERIZON like many large companies, in a cost cutting measure has farmed out their collections activities to third party companies, who in many cases can be VERY aggressive, since they earn a %age off the amounts they collect. Don't bother calling VERIZON to complain, the dissatisfaction is just a cost of business for them, even with complaints & customers switching carriers, it is still cheaper for them to pay SOMEONE ELSE to call on & collect from delinquent accounts. They will call from multiple different locations/cities/phone #'s in one day since it works on a phone bank Que system, a worker in a call center's computer automatically dials the next delinquent phone # & if gets a live body the call center rep picks up, if not, it calls the next # on their list. Pay by web or in store only, really the only safe way anymore, even if they 'turn' you off you will still be able to RECEIVE calls & make texts in & out on your phone for a while before they totally shut it off for lack of payment.
