When you make an appointment (its automated over the phone) it asks you to enter your phone number, so if you are getting a call and you know that you did not make an appointment, its probably because the idiot who made their appointment didn't know their own phone number.

This was a legitimate call from the CA DMV reminding me of an appointment. I didnt recognize it so didn't answer, but wish I had, When I called back I had to wait on hold for 45 minutes to speak to someone.
