This is the DMV calling to confirm appointment. When you make an appointment (its automated over the phone) it asks you to enter your phone number, so if you are getting a call and you know that you did not make an appointment, its probably because the idiot who made their appointment didn't know their own phone number.
This was a legitimate call from the CA DMV reminding me of an appointment. I didnt recognize it so didn't answer, but wish I had, When I called back I had to wait on hold for 45 minutes to speak to someone.

Claims to be from a roofing team. Somehow knows real name and city. I keep getting texts like this from different numbers, they stop responding when I ask how they have my number.
