I received a call from this number and also another from # 202-241-3122. Today, I called 800-829-1040. Recorded message says i reached IRS office but could not go past that. Is this scam?
This is a scam. They are hacking into legit numbers to make it look like they are calling you
The number is a legit IRS number. That's what shows up when they call. But guess what, they ask u to call a different number. Believe me people, this is a SCAM. The IRS does not call -- the initial action is always by mail. Do not give in to these scumbags. Do not give out any personal info or email.
My husband got a call from 202 864 1137 & 800 829 1040. The caller from "IRS" asking my husband to pay $2,800.00 within an hour or else he will make sure my husband will lose his jobs, can't use the passport... etc., the caller even said the IRS does not know yet about how much my husband owes. THIS IS A SCUM...

I didn't recognize the number so I obviously was checking to see who it was
The person called to verify employment of someone, but I didn't recognize the person's name. The caller had an accent, and I couldn't understand them. I didn't call back to let them know they had reached a wrong number.

Unsolicited call. Wanted me to complete my "voter profile." I've voted from this address for over 20 years.
It happened to me they got into my computer and got all bank info they took over $4000. from me left me with nothing. Don't trust anyone this was a setup.
