This is a huge scam. The IRS will not contact you in this way. They will send you something via the mail. DO NOT PAY THEM A THING!!!!! IF YOU DO YOU MAY BE FUNDING SOMETHING BAD!!!!

Also if you listen to the message, it tells you not to call the number on your caller I.D.. They want you to call a different number.

This is an IRS assistance number; however, the IRS has warned that there a scammers using this number, claiming to be the IRS to intimidate people into paying money to a Paypal account using a prepaid debit card. The IRS has stated that they contact citizens first by either US mail or in person; they do not call first. They also said that there is issue tracing the callers as they are using VOIP.

I have received two calls from the same man, using two different names: Ron Thompson and Mark Williams. He claims to be an IRS agent and states that I will be arrested unless I contact him. He has left two different call back numbers: 206-388-4890 X-3001 and 804-554-3033. He is most likely born in India and I can tell that he is reading from a script. I will not answer the phone when the number is not familiar to me.

Just received a call from "Officer Gary Anderson" with the "IRS." He said we were going to get sued and asked if we had a criminal attorney. He clearly was calling from a call center in India or Pakistan. I could hear lots of other conversations in the background and they all had the same accent. I asked for his supervisor's name and to be connected with him. He refused. After a little arguing he asked me if I understood English. I laughed and asked him if he understood English. I asked him to hand the phone to anyone else there and he refused. He said his call back number was 804-554-3033. What a joke. He also said he would call me back later. Ha.

I just got a message from these people and it left me a 804-554-3039 number to call saying from the IRS...and then it mentions a lawsuit against my name ... yeah right! SCAM artist or so they think!Don't give them any info- tell them you're calling the police right now and they hang up!Good bye to the FAKE IRS...

I got a voicemail from this number, and much like other people, the number they asked me to call back to was entirely different. They claimed to be IRS, and they had a very thick Indian accent. Reporting in the A.M. to help stop the scam!
