Have received this same phone call multiple times. Did return the phone call once just to see what they would ask when reference number was punched in. Totally automated & first thing they requested was Social Security #. Naturally we hung up, but unfortunately returning that call kept us on their "sucker" list. We just delete the calls from our voice mail. Total scam, IRS doesn't call citizens.

Its the IRS just call and wait and if you don't think its the IRS call the main Tel, # and it will take you to that same #.

A call came in from an unknown number on my caller id at 3:29pm, I checked voicemail and got the message which stated they were the IRS and to call them back before close of business today. Since I am in good standing with the IRS, I found this call suspicious. I dialed in to see what would happen and the automated message came on. It went thru the spanish / english request menu then on to where it request you to put in your social security or tax id; then it said to note there is a fee for something then I hung up.

This number called me also . I called back . It is the IRS. However as other people have stated I went through all the menu and the spoke with a person who gave me an id number and name. Then I got put on hold and then hung up on . . . .
