same thing happened to me, but i didn't want to tell them anything so they left the 800-955-9060 # to me. However, they are calling from a number 224-222-5000. I then called the number that's on the back of my chase credit card, spoke to a CSR about the situation, and he told me that phone call is valid. Then what he did it to transfer me directly to their security dept and finished setting up the acct by answering few questions.so i guess if it is suspicious, don't answer anything, but call back the number that u know of your bank, just to be safe.
I got the same call yesterday, and while it did turn out to be legitimate, I still called the main # for my credit card first and have them transfer me. I think this is just a good way of insuring that the caller is actually who they say they are.
Had received a message at my work number (not my primary #). Double checked this list and decided to return the call. Chase Fraud was concern because they saw $2,000.00 worth of electronics being charged to my card. My nephew was building his graduation computer.
I just received a call from the number too. Why is the recording on the 800-955-9060 different from the Chase normal number. I became nervous when the mystery number asked me for my entire account number, but the Chase number on the back of my card only asks for the last four digits. What gives? If someone from Chase is reading this, instruct people to call the number on the back of their card, then press a # to speak to Fraud Department.
My parents were called and asked to relay the msg to me. I also received a msg on my cell phone. I called and they were asking about my govt travel card which is a VISA, but this was saying it was a mastercard. I realize now I gave her a ton of information I should not have over the phone...I gave her social verfied detailes etc....so now what do I do? Who do I call, who do I report? I am so worried now...any advice? Since I just got my govt card (new to military) I was wondering why there would be charges since I've never used it. A few hours later I got worried and googled the number and found this post. Can anyone offer advice? I am so worried...
Chase Fraud Services. They knew things (including recent transactions) that no other would. I wouldn't worry with this number.
I just got a call from that number also. It made me nervous so I called the number on the back of my card and they told me the 955-9060 number is one of the numbers that Chase fraud department uses. I'd be safe and call the number you know is accurate on the back of your card. Someone tried to spend about $10k on my card...
This number is a scam. Chase knows nothing about it. Don't answer their questions. Whoever is posting that it is legitimate on this page is lying and is in on the scam.
I work DIRECTLY for JPMorgan Chase which services, United, Southwest, AARP, Disney and other misc cards. This IS our fraud inbound number which will route you to either Tempe, AZ, Elgin, IL, Or MANILA, Philipenes (sp?). We do have multiple callback numbers and are proactivly working on the prompt to change the opening quote from, "Please type your acct #" to something a bit less intimadating. If you get a call from 18009559060, and do not feel comfortable, PLEASE find your chase card (whatever the brand) and call the 1800 Customer Svc number. THIS NUMBER IS *NOT* A SCAM!! Simply an early warning system to mitigate fraud. FYI Chase is CLOSING AND OUTSOURCING my job (fraud risk anylist) over to the Phillipenes.
