You, are wrong plain and simple

Just got a call, got worried so I didn't give info and asked for a number to call back, they gave me the 955-9060 number. I instead called the number on the back of my new Chase card (which wasn't even activated yet) and got sent right to the fraud department. The women confirmed 955-9060 is a Chase number and that the fraud department was indeed trying to contact me to verify a balance transfer I used to open the account. Seems legit to me but I would always caution against giving info to someone who calls you, it's always better to hang up and call the number on your card.

When I called this number back, it was really weird, and unprofessional. I really got of the phone and wondered if I had just been scammed because I dont even have a Chase Card. But, from what it looks like, Chase just needs to teach the ppl from this number to be more professional on the phone.

Man the people at 955-9060 are freaky unprofessional! I was sure that I was being scammed and even called them back to confront them. They asked for my social security number, etc. I couldn't believe that some guy named Kevin was really a Chase rep. He was as confusing and unprofessional as a tweaker scammer would be. Thank god though because it made me panic - thinking they were after my info, so I checked out recent inquires on my credit report... sure enough, someone had opened a Chase card in my name and had made charges to it. Chase did not figure this out, by the way. I did. They just scared the hell out of me with their crappy "fraud" dept. call and I ended up saving my own [***].

I just received a call from 800-955-9060. I called the number on the back of my chase card after finding this page. But it was legit - they transferred over - was just looking to verify some activity.By all means - call the number on the back of the card. I work as an auditor for financial institutions. They would much prefer you go the safe route and call the number on the card.

I got a call from 800-278-8830 at home and from 224-222-5000 on my cell. I called the number on the back of my card instead and they connected me to their fraud dept. These are legitimate phone numbers from Chase, but use the number on your card if you want to be safe. They wanted to verify that I applied for another one of their cards.

Got a call at work which was strange in and of itself to return a call to 1-800-955-9060 and it was a gentleman with a very thick accent. I called the number back and was told to enter my entire cc number with no further instructions. I did not do it. I called the number on the back of my card. They pulled up my account and questioned some activity from an internet purchase. Just trust your instincts. It turned out okay but it pays to be careful.

Got a call (labeled "Private") and the message said to call 1-800-955-9060. I didn't feel comfortable, so I went directly to Chase.com. One of my accounts was not showing, so I called them... apparently someone had tried to use my card (whether they did or not is in question), so they locked down and closed my account. They only asked for the last 4 digits of my card, so I knew they weren't digging.THIS IS NOT A SCAM... Ever see that commercial with the James Bond theme/Guy at party with wife/Dudes about to buy something with his card...? Yeah. It seems like thats what happened.

You mean: --> Chase called you --> you checked out your credit bureau report --> someone opened a Chase card in your name & made charges --> and you don't think chase figured that out --> Mmmmmm --> Ok
