got the same call as everyne Provo UT 801-379-2000 at 4:35 pm did not recoginize number so let it ring ..whoever.. hung up after 3 rings so it did not go to voice mail. don't know the caller? don't answer!! that's my motto!
Man... I just got the exact same phone call. The script someone described above is word for word what they told me (3 prizes: ford explorer, 2500 cash, cruise to bahamas; confirm my address, set up a meeting, etc.). I agreed to the meeting...stupidly. My fiance and coworkers told me it was a scam so I checked and just found this thread on Google, thankfully. I called the cops and told them what I agreed to and they said to wait and see if the guy shows up (make sure I'm not alone), tell them to immediately leave and if they do anything or refuse, call 911. Did anyone above actually have anyone show up at their business? What happened?
recd call from Michael at Federal Financial Recruiting Dept at my work phone. Put him on hold to get manager, he hung up.
Call from 801 379 2000. Someone said something about them collecting address information for stolen credit cards. If I got the call, does it mean that they somehow have my credit card info?
This number has called my place of business every day for the past 2 weeks. They say my business has been chosen to participate in a scratch card giveaway. I tell them NO THANK YOU i am not interested please take us off your list. I am still getting called. I let "Claire" have it today, though...she picked the wrong day to call me as I have had a bad day! I told her I would report her company "IMS" to the police if they don't stop harrassing me because in essence they are harrassing since I told them I'm not interested!
Says is a bank and we were drawn for a prize. I tell them not interested, but they call pretty much every day.
I got the call too... Just hung up after asking for my name. I don't even like ford explorers.
Received the same phone call at work. Met with someone from Federal Financial, an investment/insurance company out of Utah. They appear to be legitimate. Regarding the scratch- off; Odds of he Explorer is less han one of a million, as is the odds of the $2,500 cash. The TV odds are one of 13,000. So basically, everyone wins the "free" Bahamas and Florida trips. The 3-day Bahama trips cost $330 in "fees" as compared to $478 on the internet - they probably get a volume discount. The Florida motel are Days Inn to attend sales presntations (time-shares?)
I too have received these calls. At least once a day if not more. I put the ringer on voice and it will repeat the phone number before I answer it. Well, I just received a call and I didn't answer, but thought I would call the number and it said the nextel number I am called is not in service. I've been saving these number in my address book under the name "TELEMARKETER" so I know not to answer the next time.
