That number/call is total Bull-[***]!I Just spent 10 minutes on the phone with eBay. They will not call you. And, of course, any emails you receive from them can be validated by logging into you account and checking your messages...
I just got a call and it was from eBay. Automated call but it sounded legit. I was late shipping an item I sold and the buyer started initiated a clame so I started getting contacted by them. So it sounds to me like this is a legit call and it is eBay.
Well, i am not a seller and started getting these calls. I refused to answer and they said they would email me, but never have. So I contacted ebay, and they said that is not a number associated with EBAY and they would take it from there.
Yes they do. They call if there's a problem or if there's a promotion, or a new policy that you need to know about. Dimwit.
15 minutes after i created my Ebay account, i got a call from this number, asking me what i was selling and they asked me my username and password which anyone affiliated with Ebay will not do...thats how i know it was a scam.....i did not give them my PW or username, then the guy said he really didnt need it anyway. that it was no big deal....
I got the same call today. It was actually a voicemail message. She explained a new fee structure for EBAY and told me to go to the Ebay site to check it out. This is the first time I got a call like this. it is B.S.
The number 801-545-1800 is not an ebay number, this was verified by ebay as a scam number and anyone who gets called by this number should report it to www.donotcall.gov immediately.
This is a call from eBay. Just giving updated info about specials. They did not want you to call back, just left info on message and to check the website for further details.
