Interesting -- I checked my preferences, and all notifications, including phone calls, are TURNED OFF. They called anyway.
eBay does NOT know my phone number. They do not have it at all. My phone number is NOT in the area you are referring to because I created my eBay account over 12 years ago... 5 years BEFORE I had a cell phone.This is a SCAM plain and simple.The message that was left told me that a buyer had complained and that I should log in to the resolutions area. Thing is I HAVE NEVER SOLD ANYTHING ON EBAY!!!!Guess what I saw in the complaint resolutions area???? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. THIS IS A SCAM TO FIND LEGITIMATE WORKING CELL NUMBERS AND MARKET CRAP TO THEM!
You can't opt out of it by going to your account. My preferences are OFF and I am still receiving these calls.
It's eBay's vendor services Global Account Management line. They will call you to stay in touch if you have a Global Account Manager. 100% legit.
This is a real call. I am also a power seller and they always call and try to give you "tips" its a wate of time to talk to them but it for real.

I received a call from 801-545-1800 on July 16 & on July 18, 2008. I didn't pick up the call, because I recognized this number from posts such as this one, about the above 801 number claiming to be from so-called "e-bay" sales promotion reps. Thanks to all contributors to this post who have informed the rest of us from being harassed by these scam artists, if that's what they really are.
I just got a call from the number: 801-545-1800. The woman left a message telling me what I should do to improve my feeback scrore and about a special promotion. Contacting Ebay at this moment.
