I've been recieving these calls on and off now for three months. I never anwser them because it is a long distance number from Vermont. They sometimes leave a message about my credit rating is good and it is my last chance to get a better rate or they hang up once my machine clicks in.

Got a hang up call from 802-681-4148. Apparently, it's a residential line. Intelius has all of that information.

They've been calling semi-regularly for months during the day while I'm at work. There's always a message of a female recorded voice saying "9. That's the 9 key!" and then a minute of silence. Argh.

I live in Canada, Québec, near Montreal. I found this unclear phone message on my voice mail around 2 PM on 30 October 2007. I try to listen severals time but could not figure out the message. So I use the caller id of my telephone company. Got that 802-681-4148 number. I was expecting an important call and wanted to make sure who was calling. So luckily I check on the internet and found all these great info. Thanks to all of you who took the time to share their info.

I'm from Chicoutimi, Qc and I saw this phone number on the house's phone but never answer it.

i received a call from them today with a recorded msg saying i won a cruise in the carribeans and to press 9 so i'm like yeah whatever who knows so i pressed the 9 then a guy asked me if i understood the recorded message and i said yes, he asked me what i understood so i tell him about the cruise while laughing and he's like why are you laughing? you dont believe it? and i said well no not really so he said why did you press the 9 then? i replied because you never know! he answered : well have a good day then miss and hung up on me... what is wrong with those people!

Wow, I just got a call from this, annd called phonebusters, seems they are well aware of it. I got an automated message, and told to press 9, but seriously, give me a break, clearly BS. I am in the Muskoka area of Ontario. No clue how these people got my #. I am guessing it is a random automated dialer, that will get you to a live person when you press 9, rather than have someone live doing the dialing. I feel really angry, and havign a connection inside my house to people that do this, and know that they were hoping I was stupid enough to be ripped off inside my own house, i am so enraged with this invasion right now.

This number keeps calling me as well - with the message that I won a cruise and when I made the option to press 9 & speak to someone they hang up.Also, when I called the number back someone picked up and said hello then hung up.

Did these people sound like Typical North Americans? or might it have been an accent suggesting an offshore scam?
