I am getting the back brace call, too. They do not listen when you tell them do not call again. I have no interest in a back brace and certainly did not ask for that call.
Received a call from 1-804-477-8007. Caller ID was Richmond VA. I don't answer calls I don't know; they get the quick pickup and hang up. Checked 800 Notes and blocked this number.
Same "Back brace that you've seen on TV and requested information about.. AND it's paid for by Medicare!" scam.Thanks for the info about the call blockers LJS... that sounds like a reasonable next step. I only answered this one because it ID'd from Richmond, VA where I had friends, and the number looked vaguely familiar.
I just got this call and played it out to the end. They were pretty good, didn't ask for credit cards or anything, except a medicare or medicaid number. Of course I made one up and she subtlety asked if it was the same as my social security number. They asked for a lot of other information which I'm not sure how it allcould be used, maybe just for show on some items, things like my doctors name, asking for other people's phone numbers was informative, that could be how they get some of our numbers.
Got 2 calls today from this number. They let it ring 3 times then hung up both times they called. I don't ever answer calls from numbers I don't recognize anyway, but it was good to see the other posts on this website. I never expressed any interest in a back brace.
