Caller with a very heavy accent asked if I was on Medicare and if I was happy with it. I hung up.
Got the same robocall saying this the callback I *requested* for some kind of medical brace or some such nonsense.I used to engage with this pond scum when they'd call. Now I just hang up. It's really the best thing to do. I get fewer calls now that I don't engage.Often times if it's a number I don't recognize, I'll pick up the phone and not say anything. If it's a real (legitimate) person, THEY'LL say "hello?" and I'll respond as if I had answered but they just didn't hear me. If it's a robocaller, it might be best that there is no response at all.
It's fairly clear what telemarketers are, so it is unproductive to state the obvious. This number called our home and I was curious. It was not a robocall, but rather a woman expecting to speak with a family member which she named. I asked her to hold while I tried to locate the person(I had no intention of doing this). After about a minute she hung up. I have no idea what she was trying to foist on us, nor do I care. I honestly don't remember anyone actually stating clearly about calls from this number. I relating what I did, and I'll see if calls continue.
They also called me today claiming I expressed interest in their back brace. They're lying.
Idiot recording said they were returning my phone call about a back brace commercial on TV and that it might be covered by insurance. GIMME A BREAK! Told guy who answered NEVER to call me again and remove my phone number.
I am so sick of unwanted telephone calls that I don't pick up when I don't know the #. After checking 800notes.com I am usually correct in doing what I do. And the political calls will start coming soon so I do not appreciate paying a lot of money for telephone service when people are allowed to ring my number & I am on a Do Not Call list. Thanks politicians for all you do NOT DO for constituents! Guess our alternative is to quit paying Bell/AT&T for service?Who feeds them our info I have no clue. I hope they wake up and realize what they do to the public.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1Mary replies to Retta7 Jul 2015 | 1 replymmmm... This IS their job: scamming. No different than ghetto kids who deal drugs on the street corner: they get up every day, dress appropriate to the job, go to the corner and sell their product without regard to the impact. It's not just an annoyance: they steal And do harm. If it makes you feel better to complain, then complain, but the way to fight back and regain control of your phone is to check your caller ID, eavesdrop on your call screening feature, then come here when the scammer hangs up, to verify that you did the right thing to ignore the call. if it is a real caller, you can always call them back and explain why you didn't answer, most people would understand.
I have Comcast. I don't think phone companies are giving out the numbers. With Comcast, you can block the caller from ever calling you again. Google how to do it, I did and it works.
I pressed 2 after the message about a back brace indicating I didn't want any more calls and then a rep came on and I told her I didn't want any more calls and in the middle of my conversation she hung up on me. That is so damn rude and I don't appreciate it and I certainly don't appreciare calls when you call back and the number IS NOT IN SERVICE...Please give me a break. If I receive another call I will report you to the BBB0.
