Well.....it's been well over 2 1/2 weeks since i called their company directly and asked the receptionist to remove my number......and they're now calling at night.....today, I'm going to buy a digital recorder, call her up again, tell her this call's being recorded and if they don't remove me from their calling list immediatly, I'm going to mail the recording to the national DNC. I'm going to tell her at the beginning of the call, ask her name, what company she works for, and why I'm calling. Maybe this will get my number off their list b/c if they don't comply with the DNC and they get CAUGHT, they get fined...and fine heavily for each time they don't comply
This information seems to check out. I called their 1-800 number (1-888-878-1014) and it is the correct company. I asked to speak to William Rivera. They said I would have to leave a message and they would call me back.
Someone posted the details of the company on this company and the site. On their website they have a form for the customer to fill out where you would put all of your credit card numbers, with expiry dates, and security numbers. The form, and the website, is riddled with simple spelling mistakes. Their testimonials look to be fabricated. I believe this is not in any way legitimate and that this is nothing more than an illegal identity fraud scam.I recommend that anyone who gets a call from them to complain to your phone company's fraud department, law enforcement, or anyone else who will listen.
wow, so now they're calling me from another number....1-502-410-7998at 7:56 pm.....i'm having a baby soon, i'm not going to be able to handle getting these calls at night or even anytime.....this is getting to be too much
OK....NEW LOW!!!!the stooped so low to call on the weekend.....from the 502 number...I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE I contacted CTV's W-Five, CBC's Marketplace and Global's 16X9these are all Canadian investigative shows....maybe they'll help if enough people contact them about the same thing
I'm so glad someone got through to the media about this!! I live in Oromocto, NB which isn't far from Moncton, and I've been waiting for this day.....
Thanks for taking this to the media. My question is not why this company is still doing this. My question is why it is so easy to flaunt the Do Not Call laws and laws against identity fraud. Personally, I called the FTC and logged a complaint, and I complained to the fraud department of my phone company. I know that many others have complained to the police, the FTC, the phone companies, etc. Why is it so hard to lay charges on this? Why is it so hard to cut off their service? If you do any amount of investigation (as some on this forum have done) it is easy to see that this is not a legitimate service and many people are being fleeced. This has been going on for months.I would like the media to find out whether the Do Not Call rules have any teeth, whether the local law departments have any ability to go against perpetrators of identity fraud, and whether the phone companies have any ability or interest in self regulating responsible behavior.
I have sent a complaint to Marketplace requesting them to do an investigation on the company that owns this number. Every time I get this call I file a complaint on the DNC website so that if they get inundated with complaints then maybe telemarketers from other countries can leave us alone! I also filed a complaint with phonebusters as well so hopefully they will investigate. In the meantime I have spoken to a customer service rep since asking to be taking off the list doesn't work and I just make derogatory comments to them, makes me feel better to tell them off since they are so rude!!
